Rubrik today announced new capabilities with Amazon Bedrock to strengthen security controls governing agentic AI and autonomous agent deployment.

We spoke with Rubrik’s General Manager of AI, Devvret Rishi, about the new integrations and the state of AI security going into 2026.

How Rubrik aims to strengthen governance for Amazon Bedrock AgentCore

The new offering targets a growing challenge for organizations scaling AI: how to monitor, govern, and remediate the actions of increasingly autonomous agents. As businesses adopt Amazon Bedrock AgentCore to build and deploy intelligent agents on their preferred AI models, Rubrik says its integration will give customers the “single plane of glass” needed to oversee the full AI agent lifecycle—spanning visibility, policy enforcement, and surgical rollback.

The key offerings within the new capabilities include:

Agent Monitor:

  • Auto-discovers agents built on Amazon Bedrock Agentcore, as well as custom agents.
  • Automatically discovers and maps active agents’ blast radius across Amazon Bedrock and other popular agent building tools.
  • Continuously monitors agent activity and data access, and maintains immutable audit trails capturing context from data, identity, and applications.

Agent Govern:

  • Tracks agent usage, evaluates performance against prompts, and gives teams the tools to control undesired actions.
  • Defines and enforces agent behavior, access, and action policies in real time.
  • A centralized tool to provide connectivity with enterprise identity systems—helping ensure secure, compliant, and controlled innovation.

Agent Remediate:

  • Announced in August 2025, Agent Rewind integrates with Rubrik Security Cloud to provide the industry’s only solution for precise time- and blast-radius-based rollback of undesirable or destructive actions.
  • Goes beyond observability to allow customers to instantly undo unwanted or destructive actions, without downtime or data loss.
  • Selective rollback of agent-driven changes ensures continuous protection for critical data and systems, and immutable recovery.

Not all features will be available at launch, but Rubrik plans to release Agent Cloud for Amazon Bedrock AgentCore in the coming months. The company is previewing the technology at AWS re:Invent 2025 in Las Vegas.

Why Rubrik continues to address agentic AI opportunities in the enterprise market

Rishi says that many of Rubrik’s customers he has met with since his company Predibase was acquired earlier this year express frustration with how long governance and security-related processes can hold up agentic AI building and deploying.

At the same time, customers want to leverage AI quickly and remain competitive in a market increasingly focused on efficiency. Rishi says the integrations enable those teams to move faster without sacrificing security.

“Building agents honestly is no longer the challenge, necessarily,” Rishi said. “What is restricting ability at enterprises to really leverage AI on some of the use cases with high returns is the risk involved if the proper governance isn’t in place.”

Rishi told Channel Insider he feels strongly about the growing demand for agentic AI, and the ease with which companies can deploy models, over the next 18 months.

“It can take quite a while for a company to build its first one to five agents, because of the early controls and things that need to be in place, but agents six through 200 become much, much easier,” said Rishi. “Agentic AI will absolutely be one of the biggest trends in the next 18 months or so, and I think many others agree, which is why the hyperscalers have rolled out things like Bedrock AgentCore to make that building process easier.”

AI and LLM oversight becomes critical amid rising cyber risks

Rubrik has focused on AI-related security risks for much of this year as AI adoption widens the attack surface and opens organizations to new and enhanced threats. The company has rolled out solutions integrated with the Microsoft and Google ecosystems in addition to other tooling.

Recent research published by Rubrik Zero Labs shows the widening gap between the expanding identity attack surface and organizations’ confidence in responding to and recovering from potential cyberattacks.

“The rise of identity-driven attacks is changing the face of cyber defense. Managing identities in the era of AI has become a complex endeavor, especially with the labyrinth of NHIs,” said Kavitha Mariappan, chief transformation officer at Rubrik, in a statement.

Rishi emphasizes enterprises need to be practical and realistic about the risks posed by agentic AI even as he, and many others, remain excited about the benefits it will bring.

“The truth is, the surface area of risk is far larger than it was before, and security and governance is going to be the fundamental component of how enterprises move forward with building and deploying agents,” Rishi said.

For Rubrik, the focus for enterprise organizations need to be on miniziming what it calls the blast radius of any potential attack, meaning organizations should have controls and poicies in place not to achieve perfection but to mitigate damage once an incident has ocurred.

AWS resilience designation reinforces Rubrik’s AI operations strategy

Rubrik also announced today it has been named an AWS Resilience Competency Partner.

The designation recognizes partners that help customers strengthen availability and resilience using AWS services. For Rubrik, the competency validates its ability to guide organizations with diverse and demanding uptime requirements.

As each customer and their critical workloads have unique availability requirements, AWS Resilience Competency Partners provide tailored guidance and solutions to achieve the highest system uptime needs.
