Hexnode has expanded its security portfolio with the launch of Hexnode XDR, a new extended detection and response platform that unifies endpoint security and IT operations under a single console.

Announced January 8, the product represents a strategic move by the company to address tool sprawl, alert fatigue, and the persistent gap between IT management and security teams.

The launch will resonate with MSPs managing security across multiple customer environments, particularly those seeking to reduce the number of tools required to deliver endpoint protection.

Hexnode targets IT-security alignment with simplified XDR

Hexnode XDR is built around the idea that security and IT can no longer operate in silos, according to CEO and founder Apu Pavithran.

The platform is designed to give IT teams deeper visibility into threats while maintaining workflows they already understand.

“You can’t expect an enterprise to stay resilient if IT and security aren’t aligned. That separation has been a long-standing weak spot. Hexnode XDR bridges the divide by unifying endpoint data, deeper context, and powerful response tools. The result? IT teams can finally anticipate threats and act with certainty,” said Apu Pavithran, CEO and founder of Hexnode, in a statement.

The platform consolidates detection, investigation, and response into a single interface, aiming to reduce the complexity that often accompanies enterprise security tooling.

Pavithran told Channel Insider in a September 2025 Q&A that the company views security as an opportunity for MSPs who can provide education and advisory services to their customers.

Unified dashboard and automated response streamline threat handling

At launch, Hexnode XDR focuses heavily on usability. A centralized dashboard provides real-time visibility into threats, alerts, and vulnerable devices, enabling administrators to quickly assess overall security posture.

The platform correlates signals across endpoints to surface malicious activity, complete with severity ratings, affected devices, and threat lifecycle timelines.

Alerts are enriched with device and policy context, helping teams prioritize action without extensive manual investigation.

From there, IT teams can execute coordinated remediation actions, like killing malicious processes, quarantining or deleting files, or isolating devices, with a single click.

A searchable audit trail logs threats, system events, and response actions, supporting compliance and post-incident analysis.

Native integration with Hexnode UEM reduces tool sprawl

A core component of Hexnode XDR is its native integration with Hexnode Unified Endpoint Management (UEM). Rather than positioning XDR as a standalone security product, Hexnode is embedding it into its existing endpoint management ecosystem.

The integration allows organizations to extend security coverage from their current UEM environments with minimal configuration, while managing devices, policies, and threats from a single interface.

XDR insights feed directly into Hexnode UEM, creating a continuous feedback loop between endpoint management and security operations.

For MSPs, the tight coupling between UEM and XDR could simplify day-to-day operations by reducing context switching between management and security tools when responding to customer incidents.

In 2025, Hexnode rolled out its UEM for MSPs offering targeting the unique needs of channel partners as it bolstered its work in the channel.

“Our UEM MSP portal, launched earlier this year, provides partners with unified oversight of all their client accounts in a single pane,” Pavithran said in the Q&A mentioned above.

“The idea is to eliminate portal juggling, simplify license management, and free up hours that partners can reinvest in education and strategic advisory work.”

Roadmap includes AI-driven insights and broader endpoint coverage

Hexnode says XDR is designed to evolve into a more advanced platform over time. Planned features include expanded endpoint support for macOS, Linux, and mobile devices, as well as integration with third-party UEM platforms.

The roadmap also includes AI-powered capabilities such as guided security recommendations, chat-based administrative support through Hexnode Genie AI, automated remediation, and application vulnerability insights.

With Hexnode XDR, the company is signaling a broader push toward converged endpoint management and security, as organizations look to simplify operations while improving threat response across increasingly complex environments.
