BlackFog, a developer of AI-based anti-data exfiltration technology, has launched ADX Vision — a new capability for its ADX Platform designed to secure all endpoints and the LLM interactions happening within them.
Operating directly on the device, the new solution detects shadow AI activity, prevents unauthorized data movement in real-time, and enforces governance policies automatically, all without disrupting productivity.
Tackling ‘shadow AI’ head on
According to BlackFog, ADX Vision was built to address the “unchecked use of unvetted AI applications” or more commonly known as shadow AI.
“With AI systems capable of capturing, storing, and learning from enterprise data outside of approved security controls, shadow AI has quickly become one of the most significant – and least understood – drivers of data loss today,” BlackFog said in an official press release.
The company says the rapid adoption of AI tools and LLMs has created hidden channels for data exfiltration, putting organizations at risk of losing intellectual property and confidential information while increasing regulatory exposure.
In response, ADX Vision delivers unified insights across the enterprise, helping ensure that sensitive company information stays protected. The new solution is now for Windows, with support for macOS and Linux available in early 2026.
BlackFog research reveals alarming shadow AI trends
Alongside the launch of ADX Vision, BlackFog released new research underscoring the growing risks associated with shadow AI. The study, conducted by Sapio Research on behalf of BlackFog, Inc, surveyed 2,000 employees across the UK and the US and found that:
- Nearly half (49 percent) of respondents reported using AI tools that are not sanctioned by their employer.
- Only 53 percent of employees understand how the data they input into AI tools is stored or analyzed.
- 71 percent believe the productivity benefits of using unapproved AI tools at work outweigh the potential data risks.
“As AI adoption accelerates, so does the risk of data loss through unmonitored tools. This research highlights the extent of that risk and the critical need for organizations to protect the data flowing through AI systems,” said Dr Darren Williams, chief executive officer and founder of BlackFog.
“Preventing data exfiltration has been at the core of our mission from day one, and we’ve consistently adapted our technology to stay ahead of emerging threats. ADX Vision is the next step in that journey, offering unmatched visibility into shadow AI activity so organizations can protect their data with confidence,” Williams added.
Earlier this year, BlackFog and Exertis Enterprise signed a distribution agreement to expand the vendor’s presence across the UK and mainland Europe. Learn more about how the partnership strengthens BlackFog’s ability to bring its ADX platform to these regions.
