QuSecure, a provider of quantum-safe security, has recently announced the launch of QuProtect R3, a fully integrated, production-ready PQC platform designed to make encryption modernization simple for all users.
R3 reduces manual auditing and cataloging as the world prepares for the post-quantum era
The solution delivers instant visibility into vulnerable encryption across modern, legacy, and cloud systems. With the R3, security teams can now discover their encryption landscape in days, prioritize the highest-risk systems, and act without disrupting operations.
“Henry Ford, the man who popularized the automobile, famously said: ‘If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses.’ Orchestrated Crypto Agility is the automobile of secure communications,” said Rebecca Krauthamer, co-founder and CEO of QuSecure. “QuProtect R3 is that disruptive innovation that simplifies the perceived complexity of PQC and makes it something that takes days rather than years. If an organization is carrying out the migration to PQC in the same way it has performed encryption migrations in the past, it is simply slogging along, waiting for the faster horse and paying the price. We strongly believe, and it is part of our values, that discovery and inventory should be a vehicle to help organizations migrate. We have seen too many organizations spend hundreds of thousands of dollars just to get paralyzed in the discovery phase. For this reason, we are making Reconnaissance, our discovery tool, completely free.”
QuProtect R3 reduces manual cryptographic auditing by simplifying the discovery and cataloging of cryptographic certificates, algorithms, and protocols in use across distributed enterprise networks and data centers. The solution enables organizations to gain visibility into the cryptographic practices of SaaS providers and cloud vendors by monitoring traffic at network gateways, ultimately addressing third-party risk management.
The three modules of the QuProtect R3 solution, which represent the R3 part of the name, include:
- QuProtect Reconnaissance Module for continuous discovery and inventory: This enables users to gain a comprehensive, live inventory of cryptography in use for data in transit, facilitating custom assessments that highlight out-of-policy or vulnerable algorithms to provide actionable insights for strengthening the security posture. Reconnaissance helps easily and cost-effectively fulfill Cryptographic Bill of Materials (CBOM) requirements.
- QuProtect Resilience Module for active mitigation: Users can fortify entire networks with seamless cryptographic protection for both modern and legacy systems. Low-touch integration enables crypto-agility to update encryption across all devices and systems, whether using PQC and zero-trust security, without disruption or code changes, even if algorithms are compromised or new standards emerge.
- Integrating Reconnaissance with Resilience in the platform enables QuSecure to be the only company that can facilitate a full, cryptographic-aware migration.
- QuProtect Reporting Module for real-time insights: This module enables organizations to streamline compliance with on-demand visibility and control. Users can generate a CBOM with a single click to ensure compliance with evolving standards, such as CNSA 2.0, CNSSP 15, and GDPR, while maintaining complete transparency over cryptographic inventory on the network.
Krauthamer talks to Channel Insider about the platform and working with the U.S. Air Force
Channel Insider sat down with Krauthamer to discuss the new solution as well as quantum’s position in the channel.
Krauthamer highlighted what sets QuProtect R3 apart from other solutions: a focus on cryptographic debt discovery, legacy compatibility, and cost-saving benefits for enterprises.
“R3 is really special. For one thing, we’re past this era where people are debating if the quantum threat is important or not,” said Krauthamer. “We’re into the era where there are new standards and where a lot of providers really focus on exhaustive inventorying of all cryptographic assets. We focus on the network layer and we offer it for free. That’s a really key differentiator– we think that inventory should be a means to an end, and so we offer it for free to really get organizations started and onboarded and understanding what that debt looks like, so that they can ultimately move because that’s the critical part.”
Another critical piece, Krauthamer says, is what they learned from starting with an initial grant from the U.S. Air Force. What they gathered early on from the Air Force, which applies not just to the Defense Department or government, but across all enterprises, is that organizations need a way to migrate and manage encryption that is legacy-compatible and doesn’t require them to rip and replace their existing infrastructure.
QuSecure’s solution enables users to migrate and centralize control without modifying a single line of application code or replacing network infrastructure. Additionally, users are allowed to access the platform and centralize control of their encryption, deploy algorithms, and swap out existing algorithms.
“What could be a three-to-seven year process of migrating then becomes a literal push button, instantaneous process,” she explained.
How the channel serves as the ‘tip of the spear’ for migration to quantum-safe encryption
When it comes to securing quantum systems and encryption, the channel plays a significant role in helping to navigate quantum-safe encryption.
“You do not need a quantum computer to fight a quantum computer, you just need to migrate from what is now classical encryption to quantum-safe encryption,” said Krauthamer. “When it comes to channels, a lot of organizations– because it does sound more complex– these organizations are going to their trusted partners to help them navigate this. So the channel is really the tip of the spear.”
Krauthamer says that their partners estimate a five- to 10-fold increase in inbound inquiries from customers regarding how to start addressing this migration for their organization in just the last six months.
“Now is the time to really start building a practice around this because those first [regulatory PQC readiness] deadlines are coming and they’re coming quickly by the end of 2026,” Krauthamer explained. “If you start now to offer these services to help organizations get a handle on and start putting their most sensitive applications migrating those to quantum safe, in late 2026 and in 2027, huge budgets are opening up for enterprise and government. Starting now for those that invest in building this practice will pay off tenfold in the coming two, three years.”
Why QuSecure is becoming ‘the most trusted provider’ in its space
Where R3 comes into play is that it is a solution from a company that has built up a reputation for over-delivering on service for customers. Within that, Krauthamer says, is QuSecure becoming the most trusted provider in cryptoagility and the PQC migration.
Krauthamer emphasizes that QuSecure brings the same level of service to its partners and works hard because it understands that its success is everyone’s success when it comes to R3.
“The value prop of being able to cut down the time cost to organizations and offer something that gives them a long-term solution is incredibly powerful and resonates very strongly with these customers that are just looking to get started and show progress to their boards,” said Krauthamer. “And R3 in particular is a long-term relationship with a customer. So, not only is it a one-off deploy and you’re done– which is what a lot of solutions in this space look like with R3– it is a platform that stays in your system and allows an organization to maintain constant visibility and constant control over their encryption for this migration and whatever comes after.”
Quantum readiness is increasingly seen as the next wave for the channel as quantum threats begin to accelerate. Read more about how PQC strategies are shaping the future of cybersecurity from another QuSecure co-founder, Dave Krauthamer.
