IT consulting services company CSC (NYSE:
CSC) is getting into the cloud computing
game with a three-part offering for companies looking to send some of their
computing into the cloud.

Partnering with Cisco and its Unified Computing effort, EMC,
and VMware, CSC will offer what it is
calling “Cloud Orchestration” and “Trusted Cloud” services, designed to provide
more management, consulting security and other additional services than are
provided by other cloud providers such as Amazon.com.

No pricing information was immediately available. CSC
said it will release more details about individual offerings together with its
partners. Some initial offerings will be available this summer, the company
says.

CSC says its new model combines private
clouds with the new public cloud models. CSC
manages “complete ecosystems of cloud service providers,” including, the
company says, platform as a service, infrastructure as a service and software as
a service (SAAS).

CSC’s Cloud Orchestration services offer
service-level management, remote monitoring, reporting, auditing and data
transparency. They also provide automated arrangement, coordination, federation,
management and security in addition to a public, private and hybrid cloud
computing environment.

Trusted Cloud services provide a portfolio of desktop, computing, storage and
network infrastructure services available on a just-in-time and on-demand
basis, the company says, with full security and service-level agreements.

In addition, CSC customers will have access
to the company’s consulting on cloud computing.

CSC says the Global Business Consulting and
Solutions Practice will be led by Lem Lasher, president of CSC’s
Global Business Solutions and chief innovation officer.
"CSC has decades of experience managing
‘private cloud’ enterprise computing environments on a global scale," says
Brian Boruff, vice president of CSC’s Cloud
Computing, in a prepared statement issued by the company. "Extending these
skills to integrate and manage public and private clouds is a natural step in
the evolution of our business. Enterprises that need secure cloud operations
will find that CSC offers ‘the right mix’ of
private and public cloud experience and will effectively orchestrate risk."
