ViewSonic announced Nov. 22 that it has launched a new line of widescreen LCD monitors that will feature a response time of five milliseconds and improved screen performance for gaming, video and business applications.

The Walnut, Calif., company unveiled the VX2235wm, the VX2035wm and the VX1935wm, with 22-, 20- and 19-inch widescreen LCDs, respectively. ViewSonic specializes in visual display products for business industries such as retail, healthcare and military.

“Widescreen monitors have proven to be a perfect choice for those enjoying digital entertainment on the desktop and for business professionals to see more information on one screen and easily switch between applications and projects,” said Jeff Volpe, vice president of marketing for ViewSonic Americas.

The increased screen room allows business professionals to handle several documents simultaneously, and also supplies gamers with increased screen room to navigate through in-game surroundings and menus.

ViewSonic’s new widescreen monitor product line also features a newly designed thin bezel that can combine full-sound stereo speakers with the power supply, which allows users to keep their desktops’ cable options more organized.

“ViewSonic is aggressively attacking this market demand by offering innovative widescreen options that take full advantage of the latest advances in computer operating systems, such as Microsoft Windows Vista”, Volpe said.

The VX2235wm integrates a 1680×1050 native resolution, 280-nits of brightness and a 700:1 contrast ratio, while the VX2035wm offers 1680×1050 native resolution, 300-nits of brightness and a 800:1 contrast ratio. The VX1935wm has a native resolution of 1440×900, 300-nits of brightness and a 700:1 contrast.

The new widescreen LCD monitors are available now through select ViewSonic retailers. The VX2235wm is expected to retail for $399, while the VX2035wm and VX1935wm are expected to retail for $349 and $199, respectively.
