Tech job search
Tech employment is up, contributing to positive momentum that created a net gain of about 200,000 jobs for 2016, but IT job postings dropped over the last month.
Overall IT sector employment now stands at just over 4.4 million, a small increase of 4,200 jobs from October to November.
The IT and software services and computer systems design sector employs more than 2 million people, up 5,400 jobs from October.
More than 1 million people work for the computer, electronics and semiconductor manufacturing sector, up 900 from October.
The telecommunications sector employs just over 781,000, down 2,000 jobs from October.
An estimated 298,000 people work for the data processing, hosting and related services market, down 2,100 from October.
Nearly 263,000 are employed by companies in other information services, including the search portal market, down 800 from October.
There are 6.6 million people who work as IT professionals overall (for both tech and non-tech companies). That’s up 1.8% from October.
There were more than 165,600 job postings for IT positions overall in November, down 8.6% from October.
