Tech Data will expand its solutions for secure, local and remote software application access with the addition of Ericom Software technologies to its line card.

The distributor, based in Clearwater, Fla., said it will now offer Ericom’s PowerTerm WebConnect software solutions.

“While reliable remote access to software applications provides clear productivity gains for any business with traveling, home- or field-based employees, Ericom solutions also can be used to cut costs and streamline a business’ entire software management strategy,” Stacy Nethercoat, Tech Data’s vice president for Software Product Marketing, said in a statement.

Because Ericom’s PowerTerm WebConnect is a server-based technology, it streamlines the management process, giving organizations just one system to track, Nethercoat added.

Ericom’s PowerTerm WebConnect product line provides a range of application-access solutions for Windows and Linux desktops, notebooks and other client computing systems, and makes sense for businesses in the SMB (small and midsize business) space, according to Tech Data. The distributor said it will distribute the entire PowerTerm WebConnect line and support resellers through dedicated product management and technical resources.

In addition, Tech Data and Ericom will collaborate to develop channel programs and provide authorization assistance and engagement opportunities to recruit new resellers, the companies said.

“Ericom is dedicated to strengthening our channels,” Brian Berns, chief operating officer for Ericom, based in Closter, N.J., said in a statement. “Partnering with Tech Data offers us the opportunity to significantly expand our reseller base through a premier distributor.”
