Symantec is offering a new rebate program to its Silver and Registered partners in North America, designed to both reward them and help them with business growth, the company announced this week.

Offered through the Aspire Rebate Program, participants can earn a 10 percent rebate on eligible product sales made over and above their target revenue goal. In addition, partners who earn the company’s new SMB Specialization certification can get an exclusive 15 percent rebate when exceeding their assigned revenue goal, the Cupertino, Calif., company said.

The rebate program is part of Symantec’s continuing push to increase business in the small and midsize business market. This market represents 8 million businesses worldwide, according to market research firm IDC, and worldwide IT spending of more than $14.6 billion.

“Symantec’s new Aspire Rebate Program opens a window of opportunity for us to more frequently pursue SMB customers,” said Carl Jarrett, president of Symantec partner KeyTech Services, in a statement.

The Aspire Rebate Program follows Symantec’s launch last month of the SMB Specialization Program designed to recognize partners’ expertise in the fast-growing SMB market segment and reward their training investment in Symantec solutions for SMB customers, the company said.

The Aspire Rebate Program is now open and ends on March 28, 2008. Eligible North American partners who are enrolled in the Symantec Partner Program at the Registered and Silver levels can participate and register for the program. Resellers who are not currently members of the Symantec Partner Program can also enroll in Aspire and become eligible for rebates by becoming members of the Symantec Partner Program prior to the end of the promotional period. Registration closes on Jan. 31, 2008.

“Our Aspire Rebate and other programs enable Symantec to demonstrate its commitment to our valued SMB channel partners and provide them opportunities to enjoy increased profitability and success in today’s highly competitive marketplace,” said Randy Cochran, Symantec’s vice president of channel sales in North America.
