Platform provider for managed service providers (MSPs) and IT teams, Syncro, announced the launch of Universal Billing, a new feature to address missed billing for third-party licenses.

Feature leverages license data in Syncro Marketplace to build recurring invoices

This feature will expand Syncro’s recurring billing engine by incorporating license data from third-party tools and services offered through the Syncro Marketplace into recurring invoices.

Universal Billing automatically pulls daily license counts from support Syncro Marketplace vendors, maps them to customers, and incorporates them into recurring invoices. It supports Proofpoint and will expand to all Marketplace offerings by the end of the year.

“If I were to ask a room full of MSPs how many have lost revenue to third-party licenses being missed or inaccurately billed, every single hand would go up– including mine,” said Andy Cormier, channel chief at Syncro and a former MSP owner. “Universal Billing is our love letter to billing admins everywhere. We know how painful it is to manually reconcile licenses between vendors and your PSA. It’s not just error-prone– it’s a complete waste of time.”

The feature also removes the need for manual reconciliation between vendor reports and PSAs, enabling Universal Billing to help MSPs streamline operations, reduce errors, and capture lost revenue.

Among the key benefits of the feature are:

  • Elimination of manual reconciliation: Automatically tracks and invoices third-party licenses without manual entry.
  • Accurate invoicing: Uses daily usage data to maintain billing precision as licence counts change.
  • Reduces billing errors: Lowers human errors by removing manual billing processes.
  • Scaling: Support Marketplace vendors with more integrations on the way.
  • Immediate ROI: Helps MSPs recover lost revenue and free up admin time, resulting in tangible ROI.

“We moved our Proofpoint instance over to Syncro to take advantage of its new Universal Billing functionality, and this has completely eliminated the need to manually update our invoices each month,” said Philip Semplice, president and CEO at SafSecur. “Best of all, it just works. With our previous syncing, it only updated once a month and was very unreliable. Also, the move had virtually no impact on us, and it was all on the backend. Moving our add-on business to Syncro was a wide decision.”

Syncro XMM

Earlier this year, Syncro announced a new Extended Monitoring Management (XMM) solution at the Kaseya Connect event.

The solution combines traditional PSA/RMM with Microsoft 365 cloud management. According to Syncro CEO Michael George, the solution is designed to meet channel demand for innovative ways to leverage traditional technology.

By combining PSA and RMM functionalities into a unified platform, MSPs can manage M365 cloud environments through a single solution.

Billing and revenue mismanagement can cause revenue loss and place undue stress on organizations and MSPs. Learn more about how one organization designed a platform to help MSPs optimize cloud spend and reduce cloud billing errors.
