Maintenance contract and warranty management services provider MaintenanceNet has introduced a new software as a service tool to help technology manufacturers, channel partners and customers match up the right services to buy with particular products.

Called Service Finder, the new offering allows searching by product name or SKU number to find the right services. An auto-complete capability enables searches even when users don’t know all the product details. Searches are being offered free of charge.

The offering can work with any manufacturer’s product portfolio and can be placed on a partner portal or product Web site. Cisco is one of the initial participants in the program, said Andrew Africa, MaintenanceNet’s executive vice president of business solutions.

As part of the Service Finder program, channel partners also can license and port a customized Service Finder applet to their own Web sites to drive service annuity streams. Beyond providing service search functionality, the applet gives channel partners visibility into compatible services and other service and product data to facilitate proactive preselling, MaintenanceNet officials said.

Available as a stand-alone or integrated solution, Service Finder is priced according to the scope of data integration services required for implementation, company officials said.
