HP has added virtualization enhancements to its Business Service Automation (BSA) software suite and created a social network to go with it. HP Storage Essentials optimizes capacity allocation and utilization to help manage the increased storage requirements of virtualized data centers and HP Operations Orchestration now offers better provisioning and repurposing of servers and storage without service downtime. HP BSA Essentials is an online community and subscription services.

According to the company, BSA users can reduce the amount of time it takes to provision and configure servers by 85 percent. The key is HP’s ability to offer ‘an integrated server, storage, network, client and process automation solution to coordinate the deployment of IT applications in virtual and physical infrastructures.

"With this offering, what BSA offers is a comprehensive solution to automate your virtual data center," said HP’s Kalyan Ramanathan, director of product marketing, storage automation. HP is the only vendor to offer this today, he added.
