Google has added
a new tier to its reseller channel partner program to recognize high-performing
partners, the company announced
in its Official Google Enterprise Blog.

Google adds the
new Premier Reseller tier as the overall reseller program has grown to 3,000
resellers across 70 countries.  That’s up
from 2,000 resellers in November 2010.

The Google
Reseller program covers Google technology including Google Apps, Earth, Maps, and
Enterprise Search.

To achieve
Premier Partner status, Google Apps partners must have 150 end-user accounts
and 15 company accounts under management and must hold one Google Apps
certification. Benefits include access to Google’s NDA roadmaps, invitations to
post guest blog posts, and discounted fees for both online and in-person Google
training for further certifications.

“Beginning
today, we will start to recognize high-performing partners as Premier
Resellers,” wrote Jim Chow of Google’s Global Partner Programs. “Authorized
Resellers remain a core focus for our Reseller program, and we will continue to
invest in resources, tools and training to help Authorized Resellers succeed.
For Authorized Resellers to become Premier Resellers, we have an objective set
of eligibility criteria based on revenue, technical expertise and customer
success.”

Google also said
that it will introduce new categorizations to help customers identify resellers
who focus on specific Google products and specific size companies.
