Data warehousing provider Infobright is introducing an OEM partner program
for ISVs and software-as-a-service (SAAS) providers. The program marks an
expansion of the company’s go-to-market strategy, building on a reseller
partner program announced a little over two months ago and Infobright’s
announcement last year that it would offer a freely downloadable open-source
version of its technology.

Business intelligence has remained No. 1 in terms of CIO
priorities over the last four years, says Susan Davis, vice president of
marketing and project management at Infobright. That’s because companies are
looking to extract real-time analytics to help them make the right business
decisions. “Today, data warehousing is about providing analytics to all users
in the company on a real-time basis.”

That means creating a data warehouse that acts more like Google than
traditional data warehouses do—providing the answers to questions users have
today instead of answers to the questions users thought they might have when
they designed implementation of the data warehouse six months ago, according to
Davis.

Infobright’s technology is integrated with MySQL, and the company’s open-source,
read-only version is a quick download, Davis
says. The commercial version provides additional features, such as faster load
times, and comes with support, warranties and indemnification.

Over the last year the free version has been downloaded 10,000 times. And Davis
reports that Infobright started 2008 with about eight commercial customers but
today has over 50.

Infobright executives say administration of their data warehouse takes less
time—up to 90 percent less—than other data warehouse offerings available
today. Running on x86 industry-standard services, Infobright is available
on Windows, Linux and Solaris. And because the software uses a small hardware
footprint, end customers can reduce their hardware costs as well.

Mavenir Systems is an early OEM customer—providing leading-edge mobile and
convergence solutions—and is using Infobright’s data warehousing solution to
enhance its own core mOne Convergence Platform to handle large volumes of SMS
information.

In March, Infobright announced a reseller channel program and a dozen reseller
system integrators around the world.
