ConnectWise recently announced various technology additions centered on driving MSP value, security, and efficiency. The new features and capabilities target a growing market trend that aims to offer enhanced technology at a lower cost to MSPs worldwide.

“ConnectWise is dedicated to being the trusted partner of the MSP and ITSM community,” said Manny Rivelo, CEO at ConnectWise. “By focusing exclusively on MSP and ITSM needs, collecting their input, and sharing our roadmap and vision for the most critical solutions, we are introducing new levels of transparency to the IT community.”

ConnectWise announces enhancements to RMM and RPA solutions

Among the announcements made by the software company include “significant” enhancements to its remote monitoring and management (RMM) and robotic process automation (RPA) solutions.

ConnectWise RMM and ConnectWise RPA feature intelligent automation and improved workflows, allowing users to introduce new measurable efficiency improvements across every business function. This will drive better customer or end-user experiences, enhance technician productivity, and reduce labor costs.

The RMM will feature advanced, automated patching that includes expert review for security updates. This will free MSP and ITSM teams from redundant or manual patching processes while bolstering the security of devices and third-party applications that are relied on.

“Recent advancements in ConnectWise RMM and ConnectWise RPA embody this commitment to our partners, with new features and automations that improve operational productivity as they extend their role as a strategic IT resource to their customers and organizations,” said Rivelo.

ConnectWise RPA, powered by the ConnectWise Asio platform, will now feature new, out-of-the-box workflow rules based on input from partners and their challenges. With this solution, MSPs and ITSM teams can quantify their automation use and more quickly implement multi-product process flows and integrations tailored to their organization’s specific needs.

Among the benefits for the new RMM and RPA solutions include:

  • Automated patching: ConnectWise RMM provides patch assessment, automation, and testing for all OS security updates, supported by the ConnectWise NOC team. Users will receive expert reviews of OS security patches, saving time and ensuring confidence in patching critical updates. New enhancements include an expansion of third-party patching titles, covering 10 times more applications than last year, with plans to add additional titles and extend capabilities to Automate. The patching solution will streamline the patching lifecycle, simplify patch compliance review, and expedite patch remediation.
  • Intelligent alerts: The RMM solution partners will gain access to a library of more than 1,200 intelligent alerts, which are expertly designed to identify and automatically resolve issues detected.
  • Out-of-the-box workflows: ConnectWise RPA will provide pre-packaged workflows for users, streamlining operations and eliminating repetitive, time-consuming processes that drain valuable resources. The Onboarding Digital Worker workflow automates the creation of end-user accounts in Microsoft Office 365 and reduces technician time spent on the process by 75 percent.

ConnectWise to expand Asio Platform

ConnectWise is now offering its Security360 and Backup360 solutions at no additional cost with the ConnectWise Asio platform to strengthen MSPs’ cybersecurity and data protection capabilities.

The Asio platform provides a single pane of glass for MSPs to manage cybersecurity, backup, RMM, and IT automation efficiently. It offers AI-driven insights, workflow automation, and third-party integrations for MSPs to reduce operational overhead and improve service delivery.

“MSPs need solutions that reduce complexity while delivering enterprise-grade security and backup capabilities,” said David Raissipour, chief product and technology officer at ConnectWise. “By including Security360 and Backup360 with Asio, we’re making it easier and more cost-effective for MSPs to safeguard their clients’ businesses while increasing operational efficiency.”

Security360 and Backup360 provide seamless, automated integrations across industry-leading ConnectWise Vulnerability Management, allowing MSPs to identify and mitigate risks proactively. Further, Backup360’s Asio-native integration with Axcient xx360Recover will provide a business continuity solution.

“The industry is shifting toward platform-driven service models that reduce cost and complexity for MSPs,” said Jay McBain, chief analyst at Canalys. “By integrating security, backup, and RMM with intelligent automation and AI, MSPs can improve efficiency, reduce operational burdens, and scale more effectively– key advantages in today’s evolving IT landscape.”

ConnectWise SaaS Security solution introduced

ConnectWise SaaS Security is a new solution that is purpose-built for MSPs to manage and monetize Microsoft 365 security services. It provides MSPs with a proven blueprint for more efficient security event monitoring and management while enhancing security engagement and remediation with small—to medium-sized business (SMB) customers.

ConnectWise cites its State of SMB Cybersecurity report, which found that 78 percent of SMBs are worried that a serious cyberattack could put them out of business. ConnectWise SaaS Security’s single-pane visibility across all Microsoft tenants eliminates the manual, time-intensive processes to enable MSPs to deliver security services and maximize their Microsoft 365 revenue efficiently.

“MSPs understand the critical importance of robust cybersecurity to the success of SMBs,” said Darren Peterson, senior product management director at ConnectWise. “ConnectWise SaaS Security enables MSPs to automate Microsoft 365 security tasks to more quickly and efficiently resolve vulnerabilities and protect against new threats, helping prevent any cyber-related downtime for their SMB customers. With ConnectWise SaaS Security, MSPs have the tools, resources, and confidence to effectively sell, implement, and manage comprehensive cybersecurity protection services.”

According to the company, this new SaaS security solution has two main functions:

  1. Security Manager: Empowers MSPs to discover and resolve cyber threats by leveraging Microsoft Graph API and other sources to identify security risks and vulnerabilities across SMB customers. Through automated remediation, security alerts can be remedied promptly and consistently to ensure compliance and the ability to scale. No-code customization also empowers MSPs to quickly adapt and automate security workflows to meet specific customer needs.
  2. Security Navigator: Helps MSPs deliver security solutions to customers with ready-to-use reports and dashboards. It gives MSPs insights into security scores, benchmarking, and compliance to communicate cyber protection needs and service offerings to SMB customers. Further, automated reporting ensures consistent customer engagement to drive recurring revenue.

“Getting ConnectWise SaaS Security deployed was a snap,” said Shane Monty, cloud solutions architect at Present. “It took less than 10 minutes to roll it out to all my clients using the new Partner Center Integration. Now, our ops team is able to validate and report on all our client’s security posture in a single pane. This is game-changing. Bringing all that information down into one console that is easy and simple, allows us to create more efficiency in our security and operations teams. Which allows us to manage more clients with the same resources.”

These new announcements come on the heels of new ConnectWise research from the past year on security and profit insights for MSPs. Learn more about what the research insights mean for MSPs from ConnectWise CISO Patrick Beggs and EVP of Service Leadership and IT Nation Peter Kujawa.
