CompTIA to Offer Assessment Tool for Solution Providers

CompTIA is developing a new tool to help technology solution providers gain better short- and long-term insight into their financial and operating models. The industry association will preview the CompTIA Business Model Benchmark at its annual member meeting, March 24-26, 2015, in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. Attendees will have the opportunity to become beta users.

CompTIA will also provide details on a new Executive Certificate in Financial Management Workshop for channel partners.

AT&T Partner Exchange Adds New Features

AT&T Partner Exchange is adding several new features for its more than 275 solution providers. Program enhancement benefits include investment development funds, a certification achievement program, innovation ecosystem additions and a simplified program tier structure. AT&T Partner Exchange recently combined its business model with AT&T Wholesale and ACC Business under one organization, called AT&T Partner Solutions, which is expected to provide greater flexibility for agents, solution providers and wholesale customers in terms of how they want to work with AT&T.

Unisys, ServiceNow Forge Partnership

Under a new partnership, Unisys will provide subscription-based service management solutions, integrated with the ServiceNow enterprise cloud platform. The new UnisysEdge offerings available on the Service Now Platform address key areas of service management, including operational and big data analytics, managed mobility and walk-in support. The new Unisys solutions are aimed at helping companies lower their operating costs.

WestconGroup Signs New Agreement With Cirrity

WestconGroup’s Comstor business practice is expanding its Cisco-powered cloud ecosystem with a new agreement with Cirrity. The alliance gives the value-added distributor’s North American resellers access to a suite of white-labeled and channel-only, secure and compliant cloud-based solutions. The Cirrity platform includes infrastructure-as-a-service, disaster-recovery-as-a-service, backup-as-a-service and desktop-as-a-service technology.

Arrow, Splunk Ink Distribution Deal

Arrow Electronics and Splunk, a software platform provider of real-time operational intelligence, have signed a distribution agreement for the United States and Canada. Under this agreement, Arrow’s enterprise computing solutions business will distribute Splunk software that allows users to search, monitor and analyze all machine-generated IT and business data from a single location in real time. Splunk products, including Splunk Enterprise, Hunk and Splunk App for Enterprise Security, will be available to Arrow resellers.

Avnet Adds HP Solutions to GSA Schedule

Avnet Government Solutions expanded its General Services Administration schedule to include HP technology products and solutions. The addition of HP to Avnet Government Solutions’ GSA schedule gives partners access to the federal government’s largest Government-Wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC), which agencies use to purchase their IT solutions without requiring their own contract.

Focusing on the federal, state, local and education markets, the Avnet business unit offers specifically designed services to partners. Offerings include cloud services, data mining and analytics, end-of-life and recycling options, field installation and maintenance; industry certifications, integration and automation, mobility solutions, portals and collaboration, vendor-accredited training, break/fix services, and hardware and software maintenance.

Promark Grows GSA Schedule

Ingram Micro expanded the General Services Administration (GSA) schedule of Promark, an Ingram Micro Company, with the addition of HP Enterprise Group (EG). The move will help channel partners better address the IT requirements of organizations and agencies within the federal, state, local and education markets, said Ingram Micro. The Promark GSA schedule includes more than 30 vendors, including HP EG and HP Printer and Systems Group.
