Cohesity, an NVIDIA-backed and AI-powered data security provider, will expand its partnership with Google Cloud to help companies combat increasingly sophisticated cyber threats.

The new integration between Cohesity and Google Cloud will offer advanced solutions to organizations to enhance cyber-preparedness, quickly respond to and recover from attacks, dramatically reduce downtime, and break data silos with AI-powered search.

Partnership brings threat intelligence capabilities & Mandiant to Cohesity Data Cloud

Further, the updates from the expanded partnership will make it easier for joint customers to gain new insights and value from critical business data, regardless of where it is hosted.

“In today’s rapidly evolving threat landscape, organizations need comprehensive solutions that not only protect their data, but also help them derive value from it,” said Stephen Orban, vice president of migrations, ISVs, & marketplace at Google Cloud. “Our collaboration with Cohesity will enable customers to strengthen their cyber resilience posture while accelerating their digital transformation journeys.”

Among the new data security capabilities that Cohesity is introducing with Google Cloud include:

  • Google Threat Intelligence in Cohesity Data Cloud: This integration allows customers to quickly detect new threats in their backup data using Google Threat Intelligence, which provides actionable insights backed by hundreds of global threat experts monitoring over 450 threat actors worldwide, along with information from more than 1,100 incident investigations each year. The update aims to greatly enhance Cohesity’s current threat detection and incident response capabilities to help organizations identify potential threats in their environments, maximize containment, and reduce possible impacts.
  • Incident Response Partnership with Mandiant: Cohesity’s Cyber Events Response Team (CERT) and Google’s Mandiant Incident Response teams will now work together to provide incident response engagements for joint customers. With data from Cohesity, Mandiant can expedite the containment, investigation, and mitigation of an attack from the customer’s primary infrastructure. Further, Cohesity secures the backup infrastructure and helps complete a trusted recovery. Together, the two help customers minimize business downtime during incidents.
  • Isolated Recovery Environment in Google Cloud: Cohesity customers can work with Mandiant to establish, secure, and validate a Cloud Isolated Recovery Environment (CIRE) in Google Cloud before an incident occurs. Both Cohesity and Mandiant are working to build a solution that enables customers to confidently restore data and business operations, help safeguard customer trust, and minimize the impact of cyber incidents.
  • Integration of Cohesity Data Cloud with Google’s Security Operations: The integration allows mutual customers to realize the value of Cohesity’s data protection capabilities with Google’s Security Operations for improved data resiliency and enhanced security posture management.

“Cyber threats like ransomware continue to plague global organizations, putting their businesses at risk and limiting their ability to focus on new, value-driving activities and services,” said Vikram Kanodia, VP of technology and cloud alliances at Cohesity. “Cohesity is committed to offering the most comprehensive solution to keep our customers’ businesses resilient, protect their critical data, help them quickly recover from incidents, while enabling them to find new insights into their data. Working closely with Google Cloud, we’re strengthening that commitment, giving our joint customers the tools to not only protect their business data, but transform it into a strategic asset.”

Enhancing capabilities with AI

The partnership between Cohesity and Google Cloud is helping organizations address challenges, including finding, understanding, and deriving value from exponentially growing data, through two new integrated solutions.

These two new solutions are:

  • Integration of Cohesity Data Cloud and Google Agentspace: Cohesity Gaia will be introduced as an AI agent in Google Agentspace to analyze data, generate precise responses to queries, and complete tasks efficiently and securely. With secure data APIs, customers can search across enterprise data regardless of its hosting location, enabling more efficient searches while reducing costs, management overhead, and risks. By integrating Cohesity Gaia with Google Agentspace, customers can unlock reasoning capabilities powered by Google Cloud’s Gemini models, enabling deeper insights and smarter decision-making.

Additionally, users can take advantage of Cohesity’s data governance and consolidated enterprise data platform, while the integration improves compliance, data security, and seamless discoverability of trusted data assets.

  • Integration of Google Gemini with Cohesity Gaia: This integration enhances Cohesity’s first-to-market AI-powered enterprise search assistant with Gemini models, enabling more intelligent data analysis, discovery, and management.

Earlier this year, Cohesity unveiled the expansion of Cohesity Gaia, an enterprise search assistant. Read more about how Cohesity’s expansion of the solution delivers stronger AI search capabilities for data stored on-prem.
