San Francisco-based AWS Partner ClearScale has named Matthew Stoyka as its new Chief Executive Officer in a leadership shakeup aimed at strengthening growth and client delivery.

AWS partner looks to scale without losing focus on its expertise

Outgoing CEO Jimmy Chui, who stepped into the role in December 2023, will become Chief Client Officer, a new position focused on long-term customer success.

Stoyka brings experience from startups, private equity-backed firms, and public companies, and has previously led technology services organizations through periods of rapid growth.

ClearScale’s private equity backer, Cohere Capital, said the move reflects the company’s focus on scaling effectively while preserving its AWS-focused expertise.

“Matt’s extensive experience and proven track record will further enhance and accelerate ClearScale’s momentum,” said Daniel Gedney, partner and co-founder at Cohere Capital.

Move comes as AWS partner ecosystem continues to grow

Chui will remain heavily involved in the company, focusing on strengthening customer relationships and supporting AWS cloud modernization projects.

In a statement, Stoyka noted, “It’s a privilege to continue ClearScale’s proud legacy as a valued strategic advisor to clients and a trusted AWS Premier Tier Services Partner. I look forward to meeting with our clients and many partners in the coming weeks to define our path for accelerated growth.”

ClearScale’s leadership changes come two months after it signed a collaboration agreement with AWS to enhance small and medium-sized businesses in the cloud.

It also follows the broader shifts in the AWS partner program enhancement, where companies like Accenture, Slalom, and Onica have recently restructured teams, expanded AI capabilities, or pursued acquisitions to meet the growing demand for cloud modernization.

ClearScale’s move reflects this broader trend toward aligning executive strategy with evolving enterprise cloud priorities.

The AWS ISV Accelerate program also continues to welcome new partners. Learn more about why Sovos and Bugcrowd joined the program in May.
