Cisco Systems is trying to make it more profitable for its partners to sell
core routing and switching products in an effort to take advantage of what the
vendor sees as a global $23 billion (US)
opportunity.

As part of the Navigate To Accelerate program, the new Core Accelerator
promotion provides additional margin and profit opportunities on core routing
and switching products. The promotion is being rolled out on a global basis,
and it provides partners with incentive payments of 15 percent on qualified
switching products and 5 percent on qualified routing products.

According to Cisco, there is a global install base with routers and switches
over five years old valued at $23 billion.
