Has your systems management or security vendor
recently taken more business direct? Looking for an alternative to Symantec or
another security giant? BigFix is introducing its formal channel partner
program called PlatformONE and has added a Symantec and CA channel veteran as
its channel chief.

BigFix’s solution uses an agent-based technology to deliver intelligence (patch
management, applications) to nodes on the network. The solution has been
deployed in environments with anywhere from 1,000 to 300,000 nodes.

Sick
of Symantec? Alternative Security Vendors for SMBs

Suzanne Swanson has joined the company and is launching a channel program for
three types of partners—resellers, managed service providers (MSPs) and
technology partners/ISVs. BigFix already has about 125 partners around the
world, including 25 MSPs, with the majority having signed up in the last six
months.

“This year we expect to drive more than 50 percent of our bookings through
partners,” Swanson told Channel Insider.

Swanson said that BigFix provides real-time visibility into management
functions and lets customers see it all in a single console. The solution can
be up and running in days or weeks, she added.

Pricing for the solution varies and is based on the number of modules deployed.
The software is delivered as a perpetual enterprise license model, in a
subscription form or as a managed services provider delivering the service.
MSPs host the solution at their own site and install agents at the customer
sites at each node. MSPs typically purchase a number of devices upfront and
deploy them to customers and then report back to BigFix on a monthly basis.

“We are committed to being partner-centric,” Swanson said.
