Starcom Selects Zadara VPSA Storage
Starcom, a supplier of integrated business systems for the retail, manufacturing and distribution sectors, selected Zadara Storage's Virtual Private Storage Array (VPSA) platform to replace its EMC VNX and NetApp FAS storage arrays in the United States and the United Kingdom. The move is said to support Starcom's global managed services business, including its ERP, CRM, business intelligence and e-commerce, hosting and managed services businesses. The VPSA solution will support the company's VMware- and Microsoft-based applications in data centers located in Europe and North America.
StratoKey Updates Cloud Data Protection
StratoKey expanded its use of behavioral analytics combined with defensive countermeasures, as part of an update to the core StratoKey Cloud Access and Security Broker (CASB) platform. The integrated behavioral analysis with automated countermeasures combined with StratoKey cloud encryption adds protection against stolen user credentials, insider attacks and security anomalies previously unseen in cloud encryption gateways, the company said. Stratokey's solution offers encryption, monitoring, analytics and automated countermeasures for cloud data protection.
Carbonite Enhances Disaster Recovery Portfolio
Carbonite, a provider of cloud and hybrid business continuity solutions for small and midsize businesses, launched an enhanced portfolio of software and hardware disaster-recovery solutions featuring server image backup and bare-metal recovery. The offering includes five new backup appliances ranging in size from 4 to 8 terabytes, and a new version of Carbonite Server Backup—Carbonite Server Advanced. The Carbonite backup appliances are available exclusively through channel partners, distributors and national service providers.
Data Dynamics Intros New Partner Program
Data Dynamics, a provider of storage management solutions for unstructured data, introduced its Data Dynamics Advantage Partner Program to meet demand for partner solutions using the StorageX platform. The program enables channel partners to accelerate NAS hardware sales and increase margins on consulting and professional services.
The program also provides special discounts to partners that invest in training on the StorageX platform. VARs, system integrators and service providers can get up to speed at no cost, and increase their revenues and profitability as volume increases over time, the company said. The three-tiered program (Bronze, Silver and Gold) scales with benefits and discounts.
Infoblox Appoints New VP of Worldwide Channels
Infoblox, a network control company, appointed Ricardo Moreno vice president of worldwide channels. Moreno is responsible for channel partner recruiting, development and programs across all routes to market. Prior to joining Infoblox, Moreno worked at Cisco for 18 years, most recently serving as Cisco's vice president for the United States and Latin America field partner organization.

Enterprise-level cloud recovery specialist Unitrends named Steve Muddiman chief marketing officer. With experience in corporate sales, as well as channel and marketing for global enterprise technology brands, Muddiman's responsibilities will include advancing Unitrends' international expansion, increasing market awareness and establishing the company as the leading provider of comprehensive data protection solutions.
