Distributor Avnet Technology Solutions is helping SAS, one if its ISV Alliance Program partners, bring its business intelligence software to market on Hewlett-Packard hardware through HP VARs.

Avnet will supply and support a bundle of SAS’ Enterprise BI Server (a suite of business intelligence software), HP Integrity servers and an assembly of third-party software for database management and analytics, the distributor announced Nov. 28 at Acceleration, its annual convention of HP partners in Phoenix.

Avnet will also throw in enablement programs of education, sales, marketing, financing and implementation services to help its HP VARs take the solution to market with the help of SAS’ sales force.

SAS is a member of Avnet’s ISV Alliance Program, which helps ISVs go to market with infrastructure VARs, who provide the backbone of the solution and market penetration, the company said. End users in turn enjoy end-to-end solutions from a single source.

Alliance ISVs are the third step in Avnet’s ISV partner program. ISVs begin as part of an ISV catalog, their introduction to Avnet resellers. ISVs receiving more attention will be considered validated and flagged for co-marketing efforts. Those successful at that step are then invited to be Alliance ISV partners, which receive a dedicated business development staff from the distributor.

“Our value proposition is that we are the solution provider,” said Sara Jensen, vice president of product marketing for Avnet’s IBM America’s Unit, of the program in a March interview. “That involves someone’s hardware, an ISV’s applications, the integration, the final build. … [Ours] is the process that broke the code to make these relationships work in the field.”
