Popular alternative anti-virus vendor AVG has teamed up with distributor Ingram Micro to provide its technology to resellers in the United States and Canada through direct licensing, retail and OEM channels.

The agreement, announced Feb. 20, is in addition to AVG’s existing Reseller Merit Program. The company is offering current U.S. reseller partners the option of continuing to work directly with the company or with Ingram Micro under the same service levels and terms, the company said in a prepared release.

AVG’s existing reseller program offers discounts, priority technical support, a dedicated sales team, a product evaluation program, lead referrals, timely e-mail virus alerts and newsletters, according to the company. The security vendor also offers a partner portal which contains marketing and license management tools, and an online ordering system.

The Czech Republic-based company entered the North American retail channel earlier this year through a distribution deal with PC products distributor Navarre.
