Cloud marketplace distributor Pax8 is advising Microsoft partners to prepare for a series of changes affecting Microsoft 365 pricing, cloud benefit redemption, and partner enablement as the company rolls out updates that could influence customer renewals and operational workflows.

The guidance highlights Microsoft’s July 1 pricing changes, a new process for redeeming partner cloud benefits through Partner Center, and upcoming programs designed to help MSPs expand Microsoft 365 Copilot adoption.

Microsoft 365 price increases affect new sales and renewals

Among the key updates are Microsoft’s previously announced pricing changes, which took effect on July 1, and global packaging updates for Microsoft 365 commercial suites.

The pricing has increased across select Enterprise, Business, Frontline, and standalone SKUs. It includes changes applying to new customers immediately and to existing customers at their next renewal.

MSPs can use these renewals as a chance to reposition customers toward higher-value Microsoft subscriptions rather than simply informing them of price increases.

Further, they can communicate that the price hikes come with Microsoft adding enhanced capabilities at no additional cost, including:

  • Expanded Copilot Chat experiences
  • Strengthened security protections like Microsoft Defender for Office
  • Improved IT management through Intune and related services

Changes in redeeming cloud benefits

Microsoft has also altered how partners redeem cloud benefits.

Instead of redeeming cloud benefits with product keys, partners can now activate benefits through Partner Center using a $0 purchase workflow.

Other benefit changes include:

  • Benefits are now tied to the Microsoft Customer Agreement (MCA) billing account.
  • Benefits must be redeemed on tenants associated with that billing account.
  • Benefit expiration is now aligned with the end date of the partner benefits package instead of the redemption date.
  • Microsoft has also eliminated the previous 30-day grace period.

There are no changes to the benefits partners receive, but the updates simplify administration and standardize benefit management across tenants.

Microsoft’s FY27 priorities

On July 22, Microsoft will hold MCAPS Start for Partners, a no-cost, digital event designed to give partners an early, direct view of where Microsoft is investing and what that means for them.

The sessions at this event will cover Microsoft’s FY27 priorities, including Frontier Transformation, moving from AI pilots to scalable delivery, and practical growth paths across co-sell, Microsoft Marketplace, incentives, and skilling.

Pax8 offers Copilot customer enablement

Further, Pax8 announced that it would offer Copilot End Customer Training designed to help partners engage their customers through hands-on Copilot training to spark interest and showcase real-world value.

The training is designed to help partners:

  • Educate customers on Copilot capabilities
  • Demonstrate how Copilot can transform workflows
  • Drive adoption and uncover new opportunities
  • Introduce Copilot Chat to customers
  • Provide demo environments of Microsoft 365 Copilot

Zensai partnership targets Microsoft partners expanding Copilot practices

Additionally, Pax8 detailed a Zensai customer enablement promotion that has been extended for Q3.

Zensai offers an AI-powered Human Success platform that combines learning, engagement, and performance management and integrates directly with Microsoft 365, including Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, and Copilot.

“I think this is a fairly easy way for MSPs to make additional revenue on top of what they are already doing for clients,” Zensai CEO Rasmus Holst told us earlier this year. “We want to make it like fries and a burger, so easy to add on to your offering, you don’t even have to think about it.”

Pax8 partners who sell a net-new subscription of more than 10 licenses of Copilot Business, Copilot for Nonprofit, or Copilot Business Premium Bundle licenses will be eligible for the same number of licenses of Zensai free for a year for their clients.

What MSPs need to know for Microsoft’s 2027 fiscal year

Together, the updates signal that Microsoft partners will need to do more than simply communicate pricing increases to customers.

MSPs also face new administrative processes for managing cloud benefits while seeking opportunities to use renewals as a platform for conversations about security, AI, and Microsoft 365 modernization.

Through guidance on pricing, operational changes, and Copilot-focused enablement, Pax8 is encouraging partners to treat the latest Microsoft updates as both a business adjustment and a chance to deepen customer relationships.
