27 percent of executives said their organizations suffered a breach by unauthorized internal access in the last year.

20 percent reported experiencing an external breach during the same time period.

21 percent of those surveyed said their organizations suffered from identity and privilege abuse due to a breach.

19 percent reported experiencing business interruption as a result of a breach.

Another 19 percent suffered an unwanted disclosure due to a breach.

And 13 percent of organizations said they saw unsafe transactions due to a breach.

Meanwhile 28 percent faced the wrath of compliance auditors due to their security incidents.

Only about 29 percent of business leaders and 27 percent of technology leaders said they were very well defended against security threats.

At the same time, 70 percent of executives said the complexity of risks have increased.

48 percent of executives reported that their security budgets will increase in 2012.
