Veeam Software has launched several partner-centric initiatives for its Always-On Enterprise platform. The offerings include a new partner program, called the Veeam Accredited Service Provider (VASP) program, which delivers new or increased benefits for marketing promotions, technical service, demos and training aids, as well as co-branding and marketing.

The new announcements also present new opportunities for providers, extending Veeam’s100 percent channel strategy from resellers to service providers, while also strengthening its position in the backup as a service (BaaS) and disaster recovery as a service (DRaaS) arenas.

The new offerings for the Always-On Cloud Availability Platform for service providers and resellers are designed and priced as service delivery models. The new offerings include the Veeam Availability Console and Veeam Agents, Veeam CDP and vCloud Director Integration, tape as a service (TaaS) for Veeam Cloud Connect Backups, and Microsoft Office 365 with new multi-tenancy.

Here’s a quick rundown of the offerings:

The Veeam Availability Console and Veeam Agents enable service providers to “deploy, manage and monitor” their availability services no matter where the workloads are hosted—whether in a public cloud, physical servers or endpoints. For partners, this means they can manage their customers’ virtual, physical and cloud-based Veeam Availability services, and generate new revenue by offering BaaS and DRaaS services together with their traditional resale business lines.

The Veeam CDP and vCloud Director integration are designed to reduce costs and recovery times during a disaster. They introduce DRaaS enhancements for service providers, while the TaaS for Veeam Cloud Connect Backups enables service providers to deliver an additional “tape out” service to help tenants meet compliance requirements for archival and long-term retention. It also provides air-gapped backups to help protect against ransomware or insider threats, and delivers an additional layer of disaster recovery protection in case of complete storage loss.

The company also announced an update to the Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 with multi-tenancy, which enables service providers to expand their platform of Veeam-powered services, and, ultimately, will create new recurring revenue streams.

Finally, Veeam offers a free online platform, Veeam Cloud and Service Provider Directory, which enables customers and partners to search for cloud and service providers that offer hosted services using Veeam products.

As more enterprises begin their digital transformation—and the cloud plays a big role in that transition—the industry will see more offerings and programs, such as Veeam’s, that drive these types of engagements.
