Jason Magee, the longtime CEO of ConnectWise, is stepping down after five years at the helm. This comes just weeks after the company closed a major deal, acquiring Axcient and SkyKick.

Manny Rivelo, formerly CEO of Forcepoint, will be taking over as CEO of ConnectWise. To ensure a smooth transition, Rivelo will be working closely with Magee in the coming months.

Under Jason Magee’s leadership, ConnectWise has seen tremendous growth. Since taking the reins in 2019, he’s led the company to new heights, expanding into new markets and developing innovative solutions for managed service providers.

A legacy of growth and innovation

Magee has also been instrumental in strengthening ConnectWise’s reputation as a cybersecurity powerhouse. During his time as CEO, the company’s revenue has skyrocketed by over 300%, and its profits have soared by a whopping 500%. This impressive growth is largely due to strategic acquisitions in cybersecurity and data protection, solidifying ConnectWise’s position as a key player in the managed service provider industry.

“It has been an incredible honor to lead ConnectWise during this transformative period,” said Magee in the press release announcing his departure. “I am proud of what our team has accomplished — scaling the business, expanding our product portfolio, and deepening our commitment to our partners. With a solid foundation now in place, I believe this is the right time for me to step down and hand over the reins to a leader who can guide ConnectWise through its next phase of growth. I look forward to connecting with our MSP partners at IT Nation Connect in November, where we will celebrate our collective achievements.”

Magee will still be involved when ConnectWise hosts its annual IT Nation Connect conference in November.

Rivelo’s vision for the future

So, now partners can ask the next logical question: who is Manny Rivelo?

Rivelo is a seasoned tech executive with over 30 years of experience. He led Austin, Texas-based Forcepoint through a period of rapid growth and innovation as CEO. Before that, he held key leadership roles at industry giants such as F5 Networks, Arista, and Cisco Systems. Rivelo’s strategic thinking and track record of success make him a great fit for ConnectWise.

“I am thrilled to join ConnectWise at such an exciting time in its journey,” said Rivelo. “Jason has done a phenomenal job positioning ConnectWise as a market leader, and I am eager to build on that success. The rise of AI presents a game-changing opportunity for MSPs and their SMB clients. Through our purpose-built platform and industry-leading community, ConnectWise is equipping MSPs with the tools they need to thrive in an evolving market.”

A smooth transition

Magee will stick around to help Rivelo get settled into his new role, while also continuing to share his expertise with ConnectWise’s leadership team.
