ThreatLocker just released many new security tools that simplify MSPs’ lives. At its Zero Trust World 2025 conference in Orlando this week, the company announced a suite of new security offerings, expanding its reach into key IT areas.

CEO Danny Jenkins states that new capabilities include patch management, web filtering, and cloud control. The company has also launched a new User Store, where employees can easily access approved apps and extensions. ThreatLocker Insights for data analytics has also been introduced as part of this rollout. The whole package significantly expands the company’s security portfolio.

During Thursday’s announcement, Jenkins told attendees that ThreatLocker is taking a dual approach: it will give MSPs access to more tools while simultaneously enhancing their existing products with Insights’ predictive capabilities. Essentially, this can expand their offerings while making current solutions smarter.

“Our job is to make your life easier. You need to make decisions faster, quicker,” said Jenkins.

Introducing ThreatLocker Insights

The new Insights platform, which has been under development for five years, hands MSPs comprehensive visibility into application usage across devices and their dependencies.

Jenkins described it as their “central brain” for gathering security data.

“We need this to better identify threats and better predict whitelisting and ringfencing policies,” he explained. Basically, it’s the engine that powers everything else they do.

Streamlining security management

Rob Allen, ThreatLocker’s chief product officer, explained that the new solution shows exactly where updates are missing across your environment. You can see which machines haven’t been patched and which applications need crucial updates. The company currently supports 30 apps and aims to reach 100 by the end of April.

ThreatLocker also unveiled Web Control, which was designed to tackle shadow IT problems.

“You can very carefully define what you want from a web filtering point of view,” Jenkins noted. The new User Store makes app approvals much smoother, which Allen said “takes a lot of the friction away from busy teams.”

The new Cloud Control takes the hassle out of security by automatically tracking where users connect. As Jenkins put it, “If somebody phishes your credentials or someone steals your token, it’s useless.”

Industry impact

Art Ocain from Airiam sees the bigger picture: “ThreatLocker is slowly going to be able to replace other tools that MSPs are using,” suggesting companies should look their way before renewing contracts with competitors.

For MSPs, these rollouts mean more tools, smarter insights, and, hopefully, a simpler life. The expanded platform could consolidate several security needs into one, potentially saving time and money while beefing up protection. This is a sign that the security vendor landscape is heating up, with companies like ThreatLocker vying to be the go-to solution for busy MSPs.
