Channel distributor Sherweb has announced the launch of a new white-label Self-Service Portal, enabling MSPs to empower the companies they serve to manage quick-turnaround tasks.

When MSPs don’t need to be middlemen: the self-service future for managed services

This solution enables MSPs to eliminate themselves as middlemen in handling everyday activities, such as ordering and assigning technology licenses, managing subscriptions, and making payments, allowing companies to utilize their portals more efficiently. The Self-Service Portal is available to the nearly 8,000 MSPs that Sherweb works with at no additional cost.

The new portal enables partners to have a fully branded digital presence onsite at clients’ companies, customized to clients’ specific needs and working on their behalf.

“MSPs are on the frontline of today’s technology evolution, guiding business in every industry through their digital transformations. But in order for them to power large structural overhauls they first need to minimize time spent on small, but necessary, day to day support,” said Rick Stern, Senior Director of Platform. “Giving autonomy to customers’ is a win for every party involved. Companies can turn around simple inquiries much more quickly by eliminating MSPs as a middle man in situations where they are not necessary. And with a reduction in the flood of requests, MSPs can address high-level concerns as well as hone in on strategic initiatives to drive revenue for both themselves and their customers.”

Sherweb says the offering has resulted in MSPs giving ownership of operational needs to their clients while freeing up bandwidth to address the high-level inquiries that directly influence businesses’ bottom lines.

The new portal enables MSPs to:

  • Automatically invoice and collect payments via PayPal for all client services: Sherweb tracks the licenses that each MSP’s clients are using, and the portal now aggregates these charges alongside the other products and services MSPs are delivering. At the end of each month, it transforms all of these into a digital invoice that clients can pay directly in their portals via PayPal.
  • Introduce curated catalogs with products from Sherweb’s marketplace and beyond: The Self Service Portal allows MSPs to curate catalogs featuring different services, products from Sherweb’s marketplace, and other products they offer to allow customers to easily view and purchase everything at their convenience.
  • Enable clients to buy and manage licenses and subscriptions: This eliminates the need for MSPs to act as middlemen, allowing customers to control their own services, subscriptions, and account settings in real-time. Clients can manage routine tasks, from assigning Microsoft licenses to extending subscriptions.
  • Introduce helpdesk functionality via a built-in chat: The portal enables MSPs to provide clients with a chat function that allows clients to open and streamline support tickets for faster resolution. The chat eliminates manual triaging, automatically submits tickets to the correct teams, and compiles every company request in one place for better tracking and communication.

MSPs can integrate Sherweb’s Self Service Portal for free.

Sherweb’s continued partner enhancements

Sherweb has recently announced a new program for MSPs, designed to further enable AI adoption through the channel.

The new offering is designed to serve as a blueprint for MSP clients seeking a tangible way to enable their end clients to efficiently adopt AI in their businesses.

“One of the things we wanted to do was collect feedback from our MSPs on what exactly we could give them that would help them,” said Senior Manager of AI Readiness at Sherweb, Jermaine Clark. “It took close to six months to really hone down what would be included in this, including the focus areas and the formatting.”

The offering is designed to enable MSPs to provide a connection for disparate data sources, establish early guardrails for data security, develop everyday and custom AI use cases, and centralize all data to fuel a fully AI-driven organization.

To further self-service for clients, Atera has rolled out IT Autopilot for MSPs and IT teams looking to automate repetitive tasks. Read more about how the company plans to further automate the time-consuming work MSPs and IT teams do daily.
