Appliance-based security vendor Mi5 is rolling out a two-tier channel program for its 100 percent channel-based sales.

The three-year old company began shipping products just a year ago to capture the market for customers looking for both URL filtering and Web malware protection, according to Doug Camplejohn, CEO of the company which is based in Sunnyvale, Calif. The current product is Webgate 3.0.

The new channel program offers training, competitive sales analysis, market development funds and joint marketing, deal registration, and telemarketing tools. Mi5 is targeting regional VARs that have a security specialization.

“We view this as the largest unprotected area and fastest growing security area,” Camplejohn said. “For customers with URL filtering capabilities coming up for renewal, they can add both malware and URL protection for the price of what they are paying for URL filtering.”

Mi5 is offering a free 30-day evaluation program. In addition, the company is allowing resellers to buy a box at a 50 percent discount every six months.

The company is also offering partners 24/7 Web, e-mail and phone support.
