Pure Storage and Nutanix just announced a new partnership at Nutanix’s .NEXT 2025 conference this week. The two tech leaders have come together to create a deeply integrated solution that is meant to help businesses more easily deploy and manage their virtual workloads on modern, scalable infrastructure.

Working together, they’ve combined Pure Storage’s powerful FlashArray systems with Nutanix’s AHV virtualization platform, giving customers a straightforward way to modernize their IT operations without sacrificing performance or flexibility.

“…I’m hearing [from our global customers] more than ever that organizations of all shapes and sizes have a growing need for efficient, flexible, and high-performance solutions that can also scale to support their most critical, data-intensive applications,” said Maciej Kranz, general manager, enterprise at Pure Storage.

Challenging conventions

Kranz says that Nutanix and Pure Storage have built their reputations on challenging conventional infrastructure approaches, focusing on technologies that help businesses adapt quickly, which is the name of the game now more than ever. This new solution gives customers a virtual infrastructure that’s genuinely adaptable while also being straightforward to manage, Kranz emphasizes – something that’s increasingly valuable.

Indeed, IT teams are facing a real turning point in virtualization right now, and this integrated solution arrives just when customers need it most. Business technology leaders are trying to keep up with fast-changing tech while also making their operations more efficient. According to information provided in the press announcement, Gartner believes that by 2028, around 70% of large VMware customers will move half their virtual workloads elsewhere, mainly due to cost concerns.

Key benefits for partners meeting growing virtualization demand

  • Technology That Grows With Your Business: A powerful yet flexible system that combines Nutanix’s virtual computing platform and Pure Storage’s high-speed storage systems, letting users run important applications without slowdowns.
  • Stronger Security Built In: Better protection for your data with Nutanix’s tools that limit unauthorized access and help you recover quickly after problems, plus Pure Storage’s encryption and backup safeguards that work together to keep your information secure.
  • A Simpler, More Flexible Option: This alternative gives the user more control without all the usual tech headaches, so you can actually focus on your business.

The new solution works with all the major server hardware currently supporting Pure Storage FlashArray, including Cisco, Dell, HPE, Lenovo, and Supermicro. This involves both existing equipment and new deployments.

Cisco and Pure Storage are also building on their partnership, which already includes over 60 FlashStack validated designs, by adding Nutanix to the mix, making it even easier to implement the complete system.

“The future of infrastructure is defined by flexibility,” said Jeremy Foster, SVP and general manager, Cisco Compute. “This level of integration, insight, and support is what will set [this solution] apart in the market.”
