Infinidat, a provider of high-grade enterprise storage solutions, has announced additions and enhancements designed to reduce costs and increase efficiency.

Infinibox G4 suite sees upgrades and a lower price point

Infinidat first launched its Infinibox suite of products in 2024, marking its first major release in approximately four years, which aligns with the industry standard in product roadmaps.

Equipped with the powerful capabilities of the InfiniBox SSA G4 platform and InfuzeOS™ features, the new SSA G4 F24 family of all-flash solutions can be installed in a customer’s existing data center racks, at a colocation facility, or at an enterprise’s remote locations, like major office or factory deployments.

“Infinidat continues to stand out as a key enterprise partner for us. The InfiniBox G4 system delivers 100% availability and top performance while reducing the footprint by 31%, which streamlines our planning for future growth and broader deployment of their solutions at US Signal. Gaining 28% more capacity in less space is a significant advantage, and it supports our commitment to sustainable, green IT infrastructure. The G4 F24ST’s sevenfold improvement in power efficiency over its closest competitor underscores Infinidat’s leadership in this space,” said John White, the COO at US Signal, an Infinidat customer.

Enhancements to line offer capacity increases without doubling the physical footprint

In a briefing with Infinidat CMO Eric Herzog prior to the launch, he emphasized the importance of minimizing the physical footprint of storage without compromising quality.

According to the company, the new line doubles capacity without increasing the physical footprint of the solutions. Additionally, users can now scale their capacity in a phased approach, leveraging more capacity when needed without requiring more than what is necessary.

With this scaled approach and the significant increase in storage capacity without requiring additional physical space, customers can expect substantial cost savings over time.

“What excites me most is Infinidat’s G4 family and how they’re making high-end enterprise storage smarter and more accessible. By creating solutions that are more compact, energy-efficient, and cost-effective, they’re directly tackling the biggest challenges businesses face with data growth,” Howie Evans, the vice president of Infinidat partner Dallas Digital Services, told Channel Insider.

“This isn’t just an upgrade; it’s a fundamental shift that allows organizations to reduce their data center footprint and operational costs. The focus on a compelling total cost of ownership for top-tier performance democratizes access to powerful storage, letting more companies invest in the technology they need without the prohibitive price tag. This combination of superior efficiency and compelling economics is what truly makes their new offerings so exciting,” Evans continued.

From AI demand to sustainability concerns and more, Infinidat brings answer to common questions

Herzog told us that the company saw a strong first half of this year, despite ongoing global economic concerns. Now, with the line of products available to deploy, he expects demand to remain high, as companies continue to seek ways to scale their backup capabilities without expanding their physical footprint in data centers or colocation sites.

“Infinidat is delivering all the right things in their latest enhancements for the InfiniBox G4 family – higher efficiency, Green IT, reduced entry price point, more flexible scaling options, larger capacity in a more compact form-factor, and expanded native protocol support with the addition of object/S3. In 2024, Infinidat delivered a very innovative enterprise storage solution that set new benchmarks with the InfiniBox G4. In 2025, the progression of the G4 is extending the reach of the G4 beyond existing customers and into new enterprise customers. Infinidat is making it easier for large enterprises to deploy the InfiniBox G4 for a broader range of applications and workloads. The G4 is gaining extensive additional momentum,” said Ashish Nadkarni, group vice president and general manager for worldwide infrastructure at IDC.

According to Infinidat, the enhancements will bring the following benefits to customers:

  • Shift of the InfiniBox SSA offerings from a “partially populated” model to a new “scale-up” model, fundamentally altering how customers can now expand their storage solutions with ease. Instead of pre-determined 20% capacity increments (60%, 80%, 100%), the new InfiniBox SSA models provide more flexible upgrade capacities and options. As always, customer upgrades are non-disruptive.
  • Massive scale-up to 33PB effective capacity in a single rack for the InfiniBox Hybrid family, enhancing capacity management capabilities and supporting the growth of customers. This scalable option is part of Infinidat’s strategy to continue to address new use cases and applications for its customers, as well as extend its powerful consolidation capabilities.
  • Expansion of Infinidat’s native OS support, embedding native support in the InfuzeOS operating system, for the S3 Object protocol. Providing S3 Object support natively in the operating system sets Infinidat apart from the majority of its competitors, which continue to treat the S3 protocol as a bolt-on feature. Native S3 Object protocol support joins the long-term block and file protocols native to InfuzeOS.

Additionally, the 33PB effective InfiniBox hybrid serves as a backup target device, with shorter backup windows, reduced backup restoration times, and cyber storage resilience and recovery, guaranteeing a Recovery Time Objective (RTO) of one minute or less, regardless of the backup repository size.

Infindat guarantees that timing is provided without the need for additional purchases layered on top of the core product, something Herzog says the company’s competitors do not offer.

The channel angle: how service providers benefit from Infinidat partnership

Infinidat works closely with channel partners servicing enterprise organizations in the US and around the world. Herzog told us that the company introduced partners to the new solutions earlier in September, before the public launch, to solicit feedback and prepare partners for the latest opportunities ahead.

“Our enterprise customers depend on scalable, sustainable, and highly efficient storage solutions.” We are very pleased to see Infinidat continue to expand and innovate the InfiniBox G4 enterprise storage platform to support our mutual enterprise customers with powerful technical and business value, offering high-end storage in a very compact form-factor, with excellent performance, and at a lower entry price point,” said Neal Callahan, COO at Sycomp.

Herzog says the enhancements rolled out in this update offer channel partners new ways to bring value to their customers and “look like the hero” as enterprises weigh costly energy needs in storage and AI deployments moving forward.

“Our relationship with Infinidat is incredibly valuable because it directly helps us solve our clients’ most pressing storage challenges,” said Evans. “This partnership empowers us to be a strategic partner to our clients, helping them achieve their business goals with confidence.”

The Green IT approach: reducing energy costs so partners can help customers resource AI needs

Infindat has long focused on an approach it calls “Green IT,” balancing the demand for backup and storage with the energy costs and emissions associated with data centers. The new offerings have shown in testing to result in a 45 percent reduction in power per effective PB.

Translated to cost per kilowatt-hour, Infinidat says the new line is 71 percent more efficient in power cost than previous models.

Herzog says partners can position these savings in one of two ways. Either their customers can take those savings as a net gain and pocket the cost difference, or they can realize those savings by reinvesting the resource in energy and other costs associated with AI technologies.

According to Herzog, early feedback from Infinidat’s partners indicates that many enterprises will likely opt for the latter option as AI implementations progress.

Either way, Infindat’s partners will be able to provide enterprise customers with the storage and backup they need while also supporting other business priorities.

“Infinidat’s new enhancements are attractive because they include simple, non-disruptive upgrades, which means we can enhance our enterprise customers’ storage infrastructure seamlessly while their applications and workloads continue to operate at full performance. Plus, Infinidat is delivering a double benefit by continuing to drive dramatically better data center and storage system power efficiency, providing Green IT that not only yields significant environmental advantages, but also substantial economic advantages for our customers,” said Kurt Schnieders, president and chief strategy officer at Advizex.
