Cynomi announced today that it has added a new chief marketing officer to its executive team. We spoke with Erin McLean about her new role and how Cynomi will continue to support channel partners next year.

McLean brings years of security expertise to new role

McLean brings over a decade of experience driving global expansion and brand leadership at channel MDR provider eSentire and security services provider Cyderes. She was named among Cyber Defense Magazine’s Top 100 Women in Cybersecurity in 2020.

Cynomi says her appointment comesas the demand for security services continues to grow, as does partner demand for the support Cynomi has built within its platform.

“Erin’s leadership comes at a pivotal time as global demand for managed cybersecurity continues to surge to over $90B by the end of 2025 (Canalys, 2025),” said David Primor, Ph.D., co-founder and CEO of Cynomi. “Cynomi is perfectly positioned to help MSPs and MSSPs capture this momentum—unlocking new revenue streams, improving efficiency, and delivering the enterprise-grade protection every business deserves.”

Why McLean chose to bring her expertise to Cynomi

McLean told Channel Insider she is excited to join the company at this stage in its growth.

“Cynomi sits at the heart of one of the most exciting evolutions in cybersecurity today. Basic security blocking and tackling has become table stakes—what truly matters now is helping MSPs and MSSPs become more proactive, deliver actionable insights, and turn cybersecurity into a growth engine,” she said.

McLean says Cynomi’s platform enables partners to more effectively and efficiently turn cybersecurity demand into new opportunities with clients as they grow their portfolios. She now brings her experience in the security market to Cynomi as it scales that message worldwide.

“At Cynomi, my focus is on elevating our category leadership through a clear, unified story that resonates across the channel and empowers our partners’ success,” McLean said. “It’s about enabling MSPs and MSSPs to sell more, expand their offerings, and drive real business outcomes.”

“I’m bringing a data-driven GTM mindset, deep market insight, and a collaborative approach to ensure we’re constantly listening to our partners, acting on their feedback, and creating a shared path to accelerated demand and profitability,” she continued.

Cynomi continues to chart channel growth and MSP support

We’ve covered Cynomi multiple times this year as the company continues to bring its security services-focused platform to more channel partners. Throughout 2025, Cynomi has added business continuity resources and developed new modules within the platform to address third-party risk management needs and other capabilities.

All of this comes in the same year the company raised a $37M Series B funding round co-led by Insight Partners and Entrée Capital, with continued support from existing investors Canaan, Flint Capital, and S16VC.

2026 plans include expanding the partner program and launching AI agents

According to the company, Cynomi will launch its new Agent Library in 2026.

The company says the launch will expand its AI leadership by making specialized agents available across the platform for compliance frameworks, technical account management, and GTM enablement — empowering MSPs and MSSPs to drive even greater efficiency, growth, and client satisfaction.

To support its expanding partner ecosystem, Cynomi says it is also enhancing its partner enablement program in 2026, with new initiatives focused on marketing support, community development, and market education. The ELEVATE program was introduced in July.

“We’re balancing building security protection and driving revenue in everything we do so our first priority is expanding our partner enablement program with new marketing resources, go-to-market playbooks, and co-branding opportunities that help MSPs and MSSPs scale faster and more confidently,” McLean told us.

“In early 2026, we’ll also introduce the new Agent Library—AI-driven specialized agents designed to enhance efficiency across compliance, account management, and GTM support—alongside continued investment in our vCISO Directory and Academy to strengthen the entire vCISO ecosystem.”

“At the core of it all, Cynomi’s mission remains unwavering: to empower MSPs and MSSPs to grow revenue, drive profitability, and deliver the enterprise-grade cybersecurity protection their customers expect—and deserve,” she continued.
