AppDirect acquires PartnerStack to expand its B2B partner ecosystem, strengthening marketplace-led growth and AI-driven distribution capabilities.

AppDirect, a B2B subscription commerce platform provider, has acquired PartnerStack, a partner relationship management (PRM) platform with one of the largest B2B partner networks globally. 

The integration aims to embed a powerful partner ecosystem engine into the AppDirect subscription commerce platform, enhancing its ability to help companies leverage ecosystems and distribution as a primary growth engine.

Building the ‘everything store’ for B2B distribution

According to AppDirect, the acquisition solidifies its position as the “everything store” powering B2B distribution. The move also builds on its recent acquisition of Tackle.io, a cloud go-to-market platform supporting over $20 billion in transactions across the hyperscaler cloud marketplace. 

“With this acquisition, we’re at the center of the underlying infrastructure powering enterprise technology purchase decisions today,” said Nicolas Desmarais, chief executive officer and chairman of AppDirect. 

“Navigating commerce and partner management requires a unified platform. By bringing these capabilities together, AppDirect is giving companies the foundation they need to scale through partners and win in an increasingly indirect, marketplace-driven world,” Desmarais added.

Combining marketplace experience with PRM to create a unified platform

AppDirect says that the combination of Tackle’s marketplace-led growth and PartnerStack’s PRM and partner ecosystem uniquely positions the company to deliver a full-stack commerce platform that powers all direct and indirect go-to-market motions. 

The company also noted that as AI reduces software development costs, distribution and search visibility are becoming the new battleground—heightening the importance of marketplaces, partner networks, and data-rich platforms.

PartnerStack’s perspective on the acquisition

For his part, PartnerStack CEO Bryn Jones expressed his support for AppDirect’s B2B distribution vision and emphasized the scale of the opportunity amid widespread AI adoption.
