Lexful officially entered the managed services market this week at Right of Boom, introducing an AI-native IT documentation platform designed specifically for MSP operations.

The launch comes as MSPs increasingly reassess core operational tools amid rising security risk, technician turnover, and growing reliance on automation.

Lexful targets operational risk and technician burnout in MSP environments

The launch marks Lexful’s first public unveiling under the leadership of CEO Pinar Ormeci, who spoke with Channel Insider ahead of the launch.

Lexful is positioning its platform as a response to what it describes as one of the MSP sector’s most overlooked risks: unreliable documentation.

IT documentation has become a growing point of scrutiny for MSPs as environments grow more complex and service delivery becomes increasingly automated.

Legacy documentation tools have struggled to keep pace with real-time operational demands, particularly as MSPs experiment with AI-driven workflows.

Rather than layering AI onto legacy systems, Lexful was built from the ground up with AI as its foundation.

“It’s very different bolting AI onto a legacy platform versus building something from scratch with AI at the core, and we’re doing the latter,” Ormeci said.

The platform automatically captures, maintains, and connects documentation across assets, procedures, credentials, and operational context, reducing manual effort and reliance on the operational knowledge held by individual employees.

“For AI to work, you need to make sure the documentation you have is fit for purpose. We’re addressing how MSPs do work and enabling them to use AI efficiently,” Ormeci said.

Ask Lex assistant anchors Lexful’s AI-native documentation architecture

At the center of the platform is Ask Lex, an intelligent data assistant that allows technicians to query documentation using natural language while pulling from real-time operational context.

The interface is designed to function similarly to ChatGPT, but within a secure, MSP-specific environment.

“This is going to be a solution that is useful for MSPs on day one,” Ormeci said. “We’re focused on AI as the UI. Instead of spending hours going through information and trying to figure out who the right person is to ask a question, you can just Ask Lex and get what you need.”

Lexful’s AI-native architecture continuously links data across systems, enabling contextual search alongside traditional keyword-based search. Documentation is structured for both human technicians and AI-driven workflows, supporting future automation initiatives.

Additional features highlighted at launch include AI-assisted documentation creation, integrated password management, and a zero-trust security architecture built to support operational trust.

Early MSP partners influence Lexful’s product development

Lexful has been working closely with early adopters through its Founders Circle program, incorporating partner feedback into product development. Several MSP leaders cited collaboration as a differentiator.

“Lexful is building for MSPs, and you can feel that in every conversation we have,” said Jennifer Roy, CEO, Nucleus Networks. “The team genuinely wants to understand how we work each and every day and is open to feedback that actually shapes what they’re building. This is true partnership.”

Industry consultant Mike Kolb, known as The MSP Hero, framed the platform as an operational upgrade rather than another tool.

“Most MSPs don’t have a ‘tool problem,’ they have an ‘operational mess’ problem,” Kolb said. “Lexful has been loud about what they stand for: built for MSPs, AI-native, and aimed at real ROI. It’s one of the more meaningful upgrades MSP operations have seen in a long time.”

“It is so important to not build the product in a lab isolated from what users actually need,” Ormeci said, noting the company has already worked with about 100 partners in a beta program before launch.

Those partners have provided invaluable feedback, Ormeci told us, and those insights have shaped the product into its current state.

“Our early partners are the first to give us their honest feedback and tell us the good, the bad, and the ugly,” said Ormeci. “The excitement around what we have built is real. We are solving massive pain points for MSPs.”

Top Down Ventures investment reflects broader MSP stack evolution

The company is backed by Top Down Ventures, led by IT Glue founder and ScalePad CEO Chris Day.

For Top Down Ventures, the Lexful investment aligns with a broader strategy to modernize core MSP platforms.

“Top Down is investing in the future of the MSP stack and rethinking how the platforms MSPs rely on will operate for the next decade and beyond,” said Joel Abramson, managing partner at Top Down Ventures.

“From evolving BCDR with Slide to reimagining IT documentation and knowledge through Lexful, our focus is on unifying fragmented data and enabling agentic automation that dramatically reduces manual work and unlocks a new level of scale for MSPs,” Abramson continued.

“It’s a privilege to have Top Down Ventures as a backer,” Ormeci told us. “Their expertise in the MSP industry helps us immensely. We can tap into that expertise and their network of leaders and partners as we grow.”

Now that Lexful has launched, Ormeci says the focus is on bringing the product to more partners and continuing to invest in innovation.

“We are extremely MSP-friendly, and our promise to the MSP channel is that we will continue to innovate. We think we have a fantastic product, but the work is never done.”
