JumpCloud Inc., a cloud-based directory and identity management provider, has launched JumpCloud Asset Management, a solution designed to automatically track, manage, and report on all IT assets. The platform aims to give IT teams greater visibility into their tools, optimize costs, and streamline compliance.

Centralizing IT asset data for smarter decisions

In an official press release, JumpCloud described the platform as providing “one source of truth for all hardware assets,” enabling organizations to track tools throughout their entire lifecycle.

According to the company, JumpCloud Asset Management delivers complete visibility into all tools and devices. By centralizing asset data, the platform allows IT admins to make more informed budget decisions while ensuring that every device in an organization’s inventory is properly accounted for.

“In today’s complex IT landscape, managing hardware assets is more critical—and challenging—than ever,” said Serhat Can, co-founder and director of product management at JumpCloud.

“JumpCloud Asset Management takes the guesswork out of the process, providing a comprehensive, up-to-date picture of all company-owned devices. This empowers IT teams to be more proactive, efficient, and strategic in their asset management,” he added.

Here are JumpCloud Asset Management’s key benefits:

  • Centralized and accurate asset inventory: Provides a unified view of all IT assets, automatically tracking managed devices and simplifying the import of any unmanaged devices or accessories.
  • Complete asset lifecycle management: Tracks devices across every stage, from procurement to decommissioning, with automated asset discovery and change tracking.
  • Smarter financial management: Enables data-driven decisions by leveraging asset depreciation, replacement schedules, and warranty details.
  • Faster, more efficient IT operations: Delivers real-time tracking and historical data to help IT teams fix issues faster and cut down troubleshooting time.

Early adopters applaud efficiency and customization

Early users of JumpCloud Asset Management have emphasized the platform’s time-saving, efficiency, and customization benefits.

Nicolae Cotan, IT support specialist at DataDome, said JumpCloud Asset Management has saved their organization time by unifying several tools into a single platform. He highlighted the platform’s tracking capabilities as a standout feature.

“I love the automated sync and lifecycle tracking, which logs every change, and migrating assets was simple with CSV import. Even better, the team is already working on more improvements and actively listening to our feedback, which makes a huge difference,” Cotan said.

Julián Blomberg, head of IT operations at Mural, echoed Cotan’s sentiments, stating that JumpCloud’s new platform “significantly improved” their device management workflow. He specifically pointed to the solution’s self-discovery and automatic asset retirement functionality as major time-savers.

“The self-discovery feature is excellent at identifying existing devices and reliably categorizes personal phones as BYOD, which is critical for tracking our inventory. We also appreciate the customization options, like adding text fields and modifying default fields to suit our specific needs,” said Blomberg.

“A major time-saver has been the automatic asset retirement feature when a device is wiped, and the CSV import functionality makes it easier to bulk upload location and asset data and also update existing assets in bulk. Overall, these features have been a valuable addition to our operations,” he continued.
