Hexnode has announced a significant upgrade to Hexnode Genie AI, introducing a conversational interface within its Hexnode Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) console.

The feature lets IT teams pull real-time device insights, run commands, and automate troubleshooting — all through natural language prompts.

Building a context-aware IT ecosystem

Hexnode cited the time-consuming process of locating data as a common bottleneck in traditional device management, particularly when teams must navigate multiple dashboards and filters.

The company said the upgrade is intended to remove this friction by enabling faster decision-making, accelerating issue discovery, and freeing IT teams to focus on resolution rather than investigation.

“This expansion represents a foundational step toward our vision of a truly intelligent UEM. As Genie’s scope grows beyond device-centric tasks to cover broader areas of IT management, we are reshaping how teams interact with the console,” said Apu Pavithran, chief executive officer and founder of Hexnode.

“We are moving toward a responsive, context-aware ecosystem where the platform acts as an intelligent partner in endpoint operations,” Pavithran added.

Apply fixes from the Genie interface

Integrated directly with live device inventory, Genie now allows administrators to query their device fleet conversationally and receive instant, context-aware insights.

Beyond surfacing insights, the upgrade also enables IT teams to initiate device management actions using natural-language instructions.

When issues occur, Genie can identify root causes and provide actionable remediation guidance. From there, administrators can apply the recommended fixes directly in the Genie interface, shortening resolution times and reducing the need for support escalation.

Scripting with Genie and Hexnode XDR

Finally, Genie AI includes a scripting terminal interface for Windows, Linux, and macOS devices. Hexnode says this addition will let administrators execute custom commands directly, providing a more streamlined and intuitive approach to scripting.

In the next phase of its roadmap, the company says it plans to extend Hexnode Genie AI to its Hexnode XDR platform, bringing the same conversational capabilities to its advanced threat detection and security operations.

Launched earlier this year, Hexnode XDR is the company’s extended detection and response platform that unifies endpoint security and IT operations under a single console.
