IT distributor and platform provider TD SYNNEX has extended its longstanding relationship with hyperscaler giant AWS. We talked to Jan de Kok, the global head of the distributor’s AWS alliance, about the recent news.

Growth in a number of areas planned for North America, Latin America, and Caribbean markets

The newly signed SCA is designed to accelerate AI adoption, cloud migration and modernization, and marketplace growth, according to a statement by the company.

De Kok says the three-year agreement enables TD SYNNEX to further invest in enablement resources for its partners, especially those who have yet to begin their AI journeys.

“SCAs generally allow us to focus on growth in our partners and their customers in these key areas,” de Kok said. “By enabling our partners to grow their businesses, we help their end customers grow as well.”

“These agreements are not short-term things, and this one in particular is for three years,” de Kok continued. “This gives us extra resources, not just financially but also in tools, automation, and people to continue supporting our partners.”

“This agreement underscores the credibility of our team and confidence in our strategic direction,” said Otavio Lazarini, President of TD SYNNEX in Latin America and Caribbean. “It will allow us to accelerate business development in the region and provide our Partners with cutting-edge technology to take their operations to the next level.”

TD SYNNEX maintains an active SCA with AWS in the EMEA region as well. De Kok states that the EMEA agreement has enabled TD SYNNEX to develop migration-focused resources in the area.

Why AWS remains a priority as TD SYNNEX enables partners and end customers

TD SYNNEX is a recognized leader in the AWS ecosystem, holding multiple specializations, competencies, and program designations, including Migration and Modernization, Education and Government, Cloud Operations, and Managed Service Provider program designation, as well as specializations in Amazon EC2 for Windows Server Delivery and Amazon RDS Delivery.

“Our collaboration with TD SYNNEX brings together AWS innovation and their extensive Partner network, creating new opportunities for businesses across the Americas on their cloud and AI journeys,” said Brian Bohan, Director, Consulting COE of AWS, in a statement. “We’re focused on connecting more Partners with AWS services so customers can achieve faster modernization and the business outcomes that matter most to them.”

The distributor also serves AWS partners through its StreamOne platform, offering end-to-end management to optimize their AWS consumption business and integrated AWS Marketplace procurement options.

De Kok highlights the company’s Destination AI initiative as a key area where the SCA will have an impact. Destination AI provides training and support for partners who have not yet begun to consider how their practices can be tailored to capitalize on the demand for AI in their client bases.

“We are meeting partners where they are this moment. Many know that there is an opportunity in AI but don’t know how to build practices around it,” de Kok said. “We have an AI Practice Builder offering that helps our partners consider how they can build a practice around AI, because it changes how pre-sales motions and services are constructed.”

“Those partners in particular, I think, are going to benefit the most from what we can do because of this new SCA,” de Kok added.

The new SCA, combined with the distributor’s ongoing commitment to partner enablement, has driven real impact across its global partner base and the SMBs that those partners support.

“TD SYNNEX took the time to truly understand our business and helped us create a roadmap that made partnering with a global leader like AWS easier, especially for a small business like ours,” said John Zemonek, founder and CEO of Aligned Technology Group, in a statement. “TD SYNNEX’s deep AWS expertise has been instrumental in accelerating our AWS go-to-market initiatives. The continued investment through the AWS SCA will only strengthen our ability to deliver innovative solutions that drive real impact for our customers.”

AWS added a new category to its marketplace earlier this year. Catch up on why the hyperscaler dedicated space to AI Agents and Tools in its latest update.
