Cloud-based data storage company Snowflake announced it would expand its strategic partnerships with Anthropic, AWS, and Accenture to enhance the entire data lifecycle with AI-driven capabilities.
Enhancing strategic partnerships with Accenture, AWS, and Anthropic
Among the partnerships seeing enhancements are Anthropic, AWS, and Accenture. These expansions will help organizations deploy context-aware AI agents on their enterprise data, accelerate AI adoption, and support enterprise GenAI innovation and business outcomes.
Snowflake and Anthropic to bring agentic AI to global enterprises
Snowflake and Anthropic will expand their strategic partnership to make Anthropic’s Claude models available on the Snowflake platform to more global customers across major clouds and to establish a joint global go-to-market (GTM) initiative focused on deploying AI agents across enterprises.
Claude will also serve as a key model powering Snowflake’s enterprise intelligence agent, Snowflake Intelligence.
“Snowflake’s most strategic partnerships are measured not just in scale, but in the depth of innovation and customer value that we can create together,” said Sridhar Ramaswamy, CEO, Snowflake. “Anthropic joins a very select group of partners where we have alignment, co-innovation at the product level, and a proven track record of executing together for customers worldwide. Together, we’re raising the bar for how enterprises deploy scalable, context-aware AI on top of their most critical business data.”
The expansion builds on the two companies’ existing work together. The next phase of this collaboration focuses on accelerating the deployment of agents on Snowflake and removing procurement barriers to help customers move from pilots to production faster.
It will also focus on developing specialized AI solutions for highly regulated industries such as financial services, healthcare, and life sciences.
With Claude models becoming available directly for organizations governed, business-critical enterprise data in Snowflake, customers can accelerate AI agent delivery. Key benefits of this partnership include:
- Turn data into action: Snowflake Intelligence, powered by Anthropic’s Claude Sonnet 4.5, is an enterprise intelligence agent that offers easily accessible insights. It enables business users to analyze, reason and gain insights from all of their structured and unstructured data, using only natural language prompts.
- Unlock deeper analysis with multimodal AI: Snowflake Cortex AI Functions will allow users to leverage Anthropic’s newest models to query all data types, all while using SQL.
- Build custom, multi-agent solutions: Snowflake Cortex Agents can empower users to build trusted, production-ready data agents to retrieve their structured and unstructured data more accurately. Customers can power these data agents with Anthropic’s Claude models, helping ensure accuracy, efficiency, and governance at every step of the workflow.
- Built-in governance and observability: When customers leverage Anthropic models in Snowflake, Snowflake Horizon Catalog provides end-to-end governance and responsible AI controls so teams can bring AI into production with confidence.
Snowflake expands partnership with Accenture
Accenture and Snowflake are expanding their collaboration to scale generative AI innovation and business outcomes for mutual customers.
The two organizations have announced the formation of the Accenture Snowflake Business Group, which will enable the companies to help more enterprises reinvent their business models, harnessing the capabilities of cloud, AI, and data. The Accenture AI Refinery, Snowflake Intelligence, and Snowflake Cortex AI are all pillars of this group.
“In today’s rapidly evolving market, companies are under immense pressure to reinvent their operations and business models to stay ahead,” said Manish Sharma, chief strategy and services officer at Accenture. “The Accenture Snowflake Business Group will help clients to better leverage Snowflake’s unique foundation of reliable, accessible, contextualized data, coupled with Accenture’s ability to unlock the power of advanced AI for clients faster.”
As part of the Accenture Snowflake Business Group, the companies will jointly invest in the establishment of a global Center of Excellence, where specialized Accenture and Snowflake teams will work side-by-side with clients to rapidly apply the latest technologies and co-create new assets and solutions.
Milestone reached in Snowflake-AWS strategic collaboration
Snowflake also announced on December 3 it has doubled its transaction growth in AWS Marketplace year over year to exceed $2 billion in sales in a calendar year.
Snowflake says it is leveraging the AWS Marketplace to reach and serve customers by accelerating adoption, simplifying procurement, and fueling global growth.
“Snowflake and AWS have built one of the strongest collaborations in the cloud industry today, helping organizations modernize faster and unlock new value from their data,” said Mike Gannon, Snowflake’s CRO. “The seamless integration between Snowflake’s fully managed data and AI platform with AWS services is accelerating our growth and empowering customers to transform their businesses in the age of AI.”
Snowflake is working together with AWS to deliver interoperable data architectures that help customers scale innovation securely and cost-effectively. With these new features, Snowflake and AWS are assisting customers in modernizing their data platforms and creating AI-ready architectures with open standards and unified governance.
Among the new joint product innovations are:
- Connecting Snowflake Agents with Amazon Bedrock AgentCore: Customers can connect to Snowflake Cortex Agents, Snowflake Managed MCP server, and Cortex AI services from Amazon Bedrock AgentCore.
- Catalog Federation between AWS Glue Data Catalog and Snowflake Catalogs: Customers will now be able to access Iceberg-format data managed by the Snowflake Horizon Catalog directly through AWS Glue Data Catalog, enabling organizations on AWS to maintain a single point of access for Iceberg-format data across both platforms, minimizing data duplication, movement, and associated costs.
- Catalog-linked databases from Snowflake to AWS Glue Data Catalog: Snowflake-centric customers’ databases can now be linked directly to AWS Glue Data Catalog without creating individual externally managed Iceberg tables, allowing automatic discovery and synchronization for streamlined read/write access. This will include support for vended credentials and Amazon S3 Tables to simplify management at scale and streamline governance controls.
- Support for Iceberg V3 Table Spec: Snowflake’s support for the latest Iceberg standard will unlock a broader set of interoperable use cases by now supporting semistructured data (VARIANT), geospatial data types, row lineage, and more for customers standardizing on open table formats across multi-cloud and hybrid environments.
“AWS Marketplace enables organizations to streamline software purchasing with consolidated billing, simplified procurement workflows, and seamless integration with their AWS environments,” said Ruba Borno, VP of global specialists and partners, AWS. “This milestone reflects our shared commitment to making it easier for customers to discover, purchase, and deploy the data and AI solutions they need, while providing partners like Snowflake a proven pathway to scale and meet customers where they’re buying.”
