Sage Debuts Finance Intelligence AI Agent, More Updates

Sage launches its Finance Intelligence Agent, a new AI tool in Sage Intacct that delivers real-time insights, automates finance workflows, and accelerates decisions.

Sage, a provider of accounting, financial, HR, and payroll technologies for small- and mid-sized businesses, has unveiled a new AI agent to power finance teams.

Sage Intacct gains agentic AI boost to deliver autonomous insights to financial teams

The Sage Intacct Finance Intelligence Agent delivers autonomous insights alongside existing Close, Accounts Payable, Time, and Assurance Agents.

This new Finance Agent acts as an intelligence layer, routing natural language questions to the appropriate AI agents and financial data sources, coordinating responses, and quickly composing a final, actionable answer. The agent simplifies decision-making and accelerates outcomes by eliminating the need to run reports or analyze data externally.

This is authentic, finance-first AI that empowers high-performing teams and equips them with transparent, accurate, and audit-ready insights.”

Sage AI Agents: the increasing suite within Intacct

The Finance Intelligence Agent is the latest agent Sage has produced to assist chief financial officers and support businesses.

Included in the existing suite of Sage Intacct AI Agents to support finance teams:

  • Close Agent: An agent that keeps close tasks on track, flags issues early, and provides full visibility in one workspace.
  • AP Agent: This agent automates bill processing, PO matching, and duplicate checks, enabling teams to review and approve with confidence.
  • Assurance Agent: Catches errors at entry, stopping mistakes before they post and eliminating downstream rework.
  • Time Agent: An agent that automates project time capture, freeing staff from manual entry and maximizing billing and estimating accuracy.

Built on Sage’s unified platform and powered by Sage AI, these agents act as specialists, operating behind the scenes and within permission boundaries, whether surfaced through Sage Copilot or embedded into product workflows.

Sage AI Developer Solution

Sage also announced it was launching new AI Developer Solutions to boost partner-led innovation on the Sage Platform.

This launch will enable partners to build and deploy certified AI agents and workflow automation on Sage’s agentic platform. It is a first-of-its-kind integration for Sage that brings certified third-party Agents into the Sage Copilot experience.

“This is the next step in Sage’s platform journey,” said Sage CTO Aaron Harris. “We are giving our partners the ability to build with Sage intelligence at their core. Together, we can accelerate innovation for millions of small and mid-sized businesses, bringing AI Agents out of the lab and into the real workflows where they’ll make the biggest impact.”

The Sage AI Developer solutions provide a curated, secure, and governed ecosystem that enables partners to accelerate innovation while maintaining high standards of trust, quality, compliance, and data protection.

The Sage AI Developer Solution initiative is powered by the Sage AI Gateway, built on Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers and Represented State Transfer (REST) APIs. These components enable the creation of AI extensions that securely interact with and integrate seamlessly into Sage’s core products.

Next-gen Sage X3

Additionally, Sage announced the next evolution of its Sage X3 solution, a fully managed cloud service that provides organizations with a modern, streamlined environment to simplify upgrades without compromising customization. 

The next-gen Sage X3 is designed for mid-sized businesses with complex needs and is now delivered as a continuously updated cloud service from Sage. It is fully embedded with Sage AI and Sage Copilot.

This latest release allows users to access new Sage Copilot capabilities, including Sales Insights to uncover revenue opportunities faster, and the Sage Copilot Chat experience to ask questions within their workflow.
