Java-focused organization Azul is launching a new managed services program for partners that leverages the Azul Intelligence Cloud.

Program designed for MSPs with Java & DevOps services

The program is designed to enable managed service providers (MSPs) to embed Azul Intelligence Cloud’s Java inventory, vulnerability, and code use analytics into their Java advisory, license management, security operations, and DevOps services.

Through the new program, partners will gain sublicensing and white-label rights to Azul Intelligence Cloud’s SaaS features, including JVM Inventory, Azul Vulnerability Detection, and Code Inventory. It also equips partners to support customers with unique reporting and analytic insights into their entire Java fleet, including active Java Virtual Machines (JVMs) from Oracle Java, Azul, and any OneJDK distribution.

“Java estates continue to expand across a myriad of deployment environments, and the cost, time and resources required to get the right licensing and security insights for compliance-oriented decision making can be enormous,” said Simon Taylor, vice president of global channel and alliances at Azul. “By giving partners full, managed access to Azul Intelligence Cloud, we’re equipping them to deliver turnkey services where they can put clear, actionable reporting and insights into the hands of their customers’ decision makers. Ultimately, this mitigates license audit risk and cost, surfaces critical vulnerabilities proactively, and reclaims develop capacity for their customers.”

Partners gain managed services edge on code removal and vulnerability management

This program will enable partner services to expand and provide specific direction on eliminating Java Common Security Vulnerabilities Exposures (CVE) false positives, utilizing additional features of Azul Vulnerability Detection and Code Inventory. Simultaneously, it will enable the identification and removal of unused and dead code across the customers’ Java estate.

The Managed Services Provider Program for Azul Intelligence enables channel and services partners to deliver continuous Java license, security, and code efficiency insights alongside their other managed service offerings, without requiring customers to run new tooling or build a license management or analytics function.

“Azul Intelligence Cloud lets us see every JVM our customers use and depend on– whether it’s Oracle, Azul, or any other OpenJDK distribution– and immediately understand compliance or security gaps,” said Evan Boyd, managing director of Software Licensing Consultants. “Embedding Intelligence Cloud into our managed service portfolio, particularly the annual Java advisory services we provide, means we can deliver faster, more accurate license reconciliation and real-time compliance for our customers while removing the operational burden.”

Furthermore, through an MSP agreement with Azul, partners gain access to a secure, dedicated, customer-specific tenant Intelligence Cloud environment for each of their multiple end-customer Java estates. They can then present results to their customers under their own brand, which is “Powered by Azul.”

Among the key benefits of the new program are:

  • Azul JVM Inventory provides organizations with continuous runtime detection of every running JVM, including Oracle JVM instances while maintaining precise details on JVM vendor, version, installation location, and the applications running on it to ensure it’s easier to discover which Oracle JVMs are in use and subject to Oracle’s commercial terms. Azul JVM Inventory also helps map each instance to the respective team and application responsible for the instance so partners can resolve potential customer-specific Oracle Java license compliance issues.
  • Azul Vulnerability Detection eliminates up to 99 percent of security vulnerability false-positive alerts generated in customer environments by using class-level production runtime data to detect known vulnerabilities in any Java application. This allows teams to prioritize genuine threats and improve their security posture for customers.
  • Azul Code Inventory enables the accurate identification of unused and dead Java code for removal to streamline modernization projects by minimizing the amount of code that needs to be upgraded and/or maintained. For partners delivering consulting to customers, the inventory drives new levels of efficiency and cost savings and, for partners delivering advisory services to DevOps teams, it means customers can be directed on how to free up as much as 40 percent of their developer time to work on higher priority items like projects or features that drive additional revenue.

Azul has made moves in 2025 to expand their business and provide more tools for organizations. Read more about Azul’s recently launched compliance support offering to help EU financial institutions meet DORA regulations.
