Keepit, a vendor-independent cloud for SaaS data protection, announced it has successfully achieved its SOC 2 Type 1 attestation report.

Security designation joins others as Keepit continues its commitment to data

Developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA)– which evaluates the design of an organization’s internal controls related to key trust service principles at a specific point in time– the report assures Keepit customers will receive effective security practices and controls for safeguarding data.

“Achieving SOC 2 Type 1 attestation is a significant step forward in demonstrating our commitment to transparency, trust, and continuous improvement in how we protect customer data,” said Kim Larsen, Chief Information Security Officer at Keepit. “It’s a milestone that many of our customers– and prospects– have asked for, and we’re proud to deliver.”

This achievement builds on Keepit’s ISO 27001 certification, boosting the company’s standing as a trusted organization for data protection and regulatory alignment. Keepit says the process for SOC 2 Type 2 is already underway.

Additionally, the attestation was completed with the Keepit Information Security and Legal teams working closely with contributors from People and Culture, Quality Assurance, Delivery, Operations, Internal IT, and SOC teams.

“Our success was a true cross-team effort,” said Larsen. “It’s a reflection of our commitment to protecting what matters most to our customers: their data.”

Go-to-market strategy with Ingram Micro bolsters Canadian presence

Looking to make other moves, Keepit also recently allied with Ingram Micro to enhance its position in the Canadian market as a premium SaaS data protection solutions and services provider.

The new partnership will boost Keepit’s channel growth strategy in Canada, allowing value-added resellers (VARs), MSPs, and MSSPs to benefit from Keepit’s vendor-independent cloud solution for data backup and recovery through the Ingram Micro Xvantage digital experience platform.

“As Canadian organizations seek secure and scalable SaaS data protection, our new alliance with Keepit brings a robust, cloud-native solution to Ingram Micro’s Network and Security portfolio,” said Alistair Edmondson, director of advanced solutions at Ingram Micro Canada. “This collaboration empowers our Canadian channel partners to better safeguard their customers’ critical business applications, enhance cyber resilience, and ensure long-term data protection readiness across the country.”

According to Keepit, the organization already operates its own data centers in Canada, which are independent of global hyperscalers, providing Canadian businesses with full data sovereignty and a storage solution compliant with Canadian laws and regulations.

Further, they are the only backup and recovery provider in the region that guarantees customer data remains in one place.

Adding Ingram Micro to the equation will provide a boost to marketing, selling, and supporting the Keepit portfolio while enhancing flexibility in purchasing and financing solutions that incorporate Keepit’s SaaS data protection services.

“The need for secure, scalable SaaS data protection is more critical than ever. Our relationship with Ingram Micro will help expand our Canadian footprint, elevate Keepit’s partner engagement commitment, and help take our channel business to the next level,” said Fahad Qureshi, VP of sales in AMER and ANZ at Keepit. “As the importance of data security continues to rise, this agreement will provide channel partners with a new and effective way to procure our technology and better support their business growth.”

It’s been a big year for Keepit in expanding its reach to service providers and providing tools to backup and protect critical data. Read more about Keepit’s addition to Sherweb’s marketplace, enhancing data resilience and backup solutions for partners.
