Reinvent Telecom has launched MyCloud Managed Security, a fully managed cybersecurity offering built to help MSPs, VARs, and resellers expand into security services without building their own infrastructure.
The new service combines Guided Vulnerability Management and Managed XDR to provide continuous monitoring, threat detection and response, asset discovery, endpoint detection and response, SIEM, SOAR, dark web monitoring, and compliance reporting.
For Reinvent CEO Justin Catlett, the launch marks another step in the company’s broader shift from a traditional telecom and voice services provider to what it calls a technology ecosystem platform.
“Our goal is to make technology easy,” Catlett told Channel Insider. “We want to be easy to do business with. We want to empower our partners to also be easy to do business with.”
SMB cybersecurity demand creates a partner opportunity
Reinvent developed MyCloud Managed Security after gathering feedback from customers and partners on where end-user conversations were headed next. Catlett said security was a natural progression from voice services to backup internet and then into managed security.
“Small to medium-sized business security is, I think, a bigger risk than it really gets credit for,” Catlett said, noting that SMBs are frequent cyberattack targets even though breaches at large enterprises tend to dominate headlines.
The new offering is designed to help partners lead those conversations with customers while also creating recurring revenue opportunities. Reinvent said MyCloud Managed Security is backed by a dedicated security operations center and built to deliver 24/7 threat protection across endpoint, network, and cloud environments.
David Ansehl, vice president of sales and marketing at Reinvent Telecom, said in the company’s announcement that security has become “a critical conversation for every customer” as threats become more sophisticated and persistent.
Reinvent expands beyond voice services
The security launch is part of a larger transformation underway at Reinvent. Catlett said the company is repositioning itself around an ecosystem model designed to help partners expand beyond traditional communications services as customer technology needs converge.
Rather than focusing on a single category, Reinvent is building a portfolio spanning cloud communications, connectivity, security, and emerging AI-driven services. The company sees its role as helping partners adopt new technologies without requiring them to build expertise, infrastructure, or operational support from scratch.
“If you don’t start to provide your customer with more than voice, somebody else probably will,” Catlett said.
As Reinvent expands its portfolio, the company is also focused on education and enablement to help partners position new services with customers.
“In some cases, the partners know and understand what a risk security is, and in some cases, they need help articulating to the end customer,” Catlett said.
Reinvent is also preparing to launch its Revive platform, an integrated experience for partner and customer interactions. Catlett said the platform will include business management, billing visibility, service management, and, eventually, more proactive intelligence on partner customer bases.
“It’s like having a full-stack technology services portfolio, but not having to build it yourself,” Catlett said.
Technology ecosystem strategy targets SMB needs
Long-term, Catlett said Reinvent’s roadmap will be driven by partner and customer feedback as technology needs continue to evolve.
“Our North Star is all about helping small businesses solve problems,” Catlett said.
That includes meeting partners where they are, whether they are still focused primarily on voice or already offering a broader portfolio of services. Reinvent is building out technical services, service delivery, and professional services teams to support that transition.
“As technology continues to get more complicated, that just provides us with more opportunity to try to help our partners and help our customers,” Catlett said.
