NinjaOne is expanding its Unified IT Operations Platform with Browser Management, giving MSPs and enterprise IT teams centralized visibility and control over browser extensions, web access, and policies.

The new capability extends NinjaOne’s endpoint management model into a layer increasingly tied to SaaS, AI tool usage, and browser-based security risk.

NinjaOne centralizes browser extension and policy controls

NinjaOne Browser Management provides users with visibility into extensions and URLs, as well as centralized control over browser policies and web access.

IT teams and MSPs will have access to a live inventory of every extension installed across managed browsers, can block or approve them based on available risk scores, and gain visibility into website usage across their ecosystem.

“IT teams and MSPs don’t want more tools; they want their work to be simpler, with more visibility and control across the browsers their employees already use,” said Rahul Hirani, chief product officer at NinjaOne.

“By unifying Browser Management with our IT operations platform, we’re extending the management model customers already trust to the one layer of the endpoint stack that is still ungoverned.”

Why IT and security teams need to collaborate on browser-based risks

The extension of the platform helps IT organizations partner more closely with security teams to more aggressively secure risk and adapt company policies to protect the organization.

“And because employees don’t have to switch to a new browser with NinjaOne Browser Management, organizations don’t have to worry about any change management to implement the solution,” Hirani said. “That means less risk, less overhead, and more time spent supporting their people.”

NinjaOne Browser Management delivers:

  • Visibility: It delivers continuous insight into website activity and installed extensions across the browsers employees already use on every endpoint, replacing audits and guesswork with an always-current view.
  • Control: NinjaOne centralizes browser policy, enforcing configurations, extension rules, and URL access consistently across users and devices, providing a predictable, governed browser environment that improves security and the end-user experience without requiring end-users to switch to a new browser.
  • Risk reduction: It reduces browser-based risk by governing extension access and enforcing consistent policies across browsers employees already rely on, resulting in a smaller attack surface, improved cyber hygiene, and a browser environment IT controls.

“One of the most active layers of enterprise work is the browser, and for most organizations, it’s also the least governed, introducing risk across environments,” said Phil Hochmuth, Research VP, Endpoint Management & Enterprise Mobility at IDC. “The result is limited visibility into browser activity, inconsistent policy enforcement, and growing exposure from unvetted extensions and uncontrolled AI and SaaS tool usage.”

“Browser management has become an essential part of managing risk, and unifying it under the same operational model IT teams and MSPs already use to manage the rest of IT operations simplifies workflows and improves efficiency,” added Hochmuth.
