Resellers believe ransomware will be their customers’ biggest concern this year, and a majority of them think that at least some customers will pay the ransom.

The security survey reveals that many businesses rely on the expertise of their reseller and service provider partners to protect them from cyber-security threats.

83% of resellers think customers are most concerned about new ransomware threats.

65% believe some of their customers would pay a cyber-ransom, while 16% think the majority of their customers would pay.

About 45% of the resellers surveyed believe that less than half their customers have the proper resources in place to adequately manage incoming security alerts.

Only 5% believe that all of their customers have security resources in place, while 7% don’t think any of them do.

63% of the resellers think the majority of their customers don’t understand the difference between Unified Threat Management (UTM) appliances and Next Generation Firewalls (NGFW).

80% of resellers think their customers don’t care about the difference between UTM appliances and NGFW, as long as their business is protected.

Almost 75% of resellers report the most growth in UTM appliance sales, while around 25% have seen the most growth in NGFW appliances.
