IRONSCALES New VP on Bringing Next-Gen Solution to More MSPs

Security vendor IRONSCALES recently appointed Brian Thomas as its new VP of global MSP sales. Thomas shared his priorities for growth in the MSP ecosystem and his insights on how IRONSCALES offers a differentiated security product with Channel Insider.

Scaling the IRONSCALES partner network to new heights

Thomas has over a decade of experience leading channel sales in security, including stints at WatchGuard Technologies and Malwarebytes. He is now leading IRONSCALES in what he hopes will be significant growth in worldwide MSP adoption.

“I think since the beginning IRONSCALES has had a really interesting story, and I was excited to join the team because we have a real opportunity to support MSPs with all that we provide,” Thomas said.

“The MSP community speaks loud and clear on technology: the more complex a solution is, the lower that adoption will be. We provide a ten-minute set-up and seamless integrations,” he added. “We are the lightweight antidote to the problems posed by legacy technology.”

Thomas says his early priorities include re-establishing a partner advisory council to intake feedback from partners on the company’s roadmap, focusing on developing and refining enablement resources, strengthening the webinars and other materials available to partners, and doubling down on strong partner success motions that offer pre- and post-sales support.

“MSPs need, and deserve, that MVP and white glove experience. They also want technical and sales training tracks, and we want to continue to scale with our partners internationally,” Thomas said. “We want to remove as many obstacles as possible to our partners getting profitable with our solution.”

IRONSCALES brings native AI and human intelligence to email security

Security is a crowded market, especially for MSPs who must weigh their clients’ needs with their objectives and capabilities. Thomas wants those providers to see IRONSCALES as more than another email security tool. Instead, he positions the vendor as an answer to the increasingly complex issues MSPs must manage.

The IRONSCALES email security solution integrates with Microsoft 365 and the Google Workspace suite. It adds a layer of adaptive AI-based security to protect users from BEC and phishing attacks.

The solution’s adaptive AI constantly learns from the global customer base IRONSCALES supports. This, Thomas says, keeps the technology consistently ahead of where any business could be on its own. In turn, this detects more phishing and BEC attempts than other tools on the market.

“The challenge we’re addressing is that evolving threats are outpacing legacy tools,” Thomas said. “MSPs face the perfect storm- there are more threats, more complex customer needs, and more in general to keep up with than ever before. We want them to know we’re here to help them.”
