Hexnode Launches Agentic AI Context Layer for MSPs

Hexnode launches its Context Layer to orchestrate agentic AI workflows across endpoint management, helping MSPs reduce repetitive UEM administration.

Hexnode is expanding its push into AI-driven endpoint management with the launch of Hexnode Context Layer, a new orchestration layer that turns natural-language requests into managed endpoint workflows across its unified endpoint management platform.

Announced on August 20, the Context Layer connects Hexnode Genie AI, the company’s conversational interface, with live UEM data and specialized AI agents that can perform tasks across device management, applications, policies, users, and reporting.

For MSPs managing endpoints across distributed customer environments, Hexnode is positioning its technology to reduce manual navigation within its UEM console and streamline repetitive administrative work.

Hexnode adds orchestration behind Genie AI

The Context Layer sits between Genie AI and Hexnode UEM. When an administrator enters a natural-language request, Genie interprets the request before the Context Layer routes it to the appropriate specialized agent.

Those agents can then coordinate workflows for policy creation, application deployment, device actions, and status tracking, using real-time information from the managed device fleet. Hexnode said consequential actions remain subject to administrator approval.

The launch builds on Hexnode’s earlier work to make Genie AI a more conversational interface for IT operations. In February, Channel Insider reported that Hexnode had expanded Genie to let administrators query device data, initiate management actions, troubleshoot problems, and apply fixes using natural-language commands.

The Context Layer advances that concept toward agentic operations by introducing an orchestration system that determines which AI agent should handle a request, rather than requiring an administrator to manually select a workflow.

Specialized agents target common endpoint workflows

Hexnode said the Context Layer currently supports specialized agents across five broad areas: 

  • device management 
  • user and group management 
  • policy and configuration 
  • application management
  • operational reporting

For service providers, the practical goal is to consolidate more endpoint management tasks into a single conversational experience.

“MSPs are managing increasingly complex endpoint environments, where every policy change, compliance check and device action adds to the operational load,” said Apu Pavithran, CEO and Founder of Hexnode. 

“Our focus with Hexnode Context Layer is to reduce that friction by bringing context and orchestration into everyday endpoint management, so service teams can spend less time navigating workflows and more time delivering outcomes for their customers.”

MSPs gain a more unified management experience

That operational simplification has been a recurring theme in Hexnode’s channel strategy. The company launched Hexnode UEM MSP in 2025 with centralized multi-tenant management intended to reduce portal switching across customer accounts.

Hexnode has since broadened its platform beyond traditional UEM. Earlier this year, the company launched Hexnode XDR, integrating endpoint security and management while targeting the tool sprawl and context switching MSPs face when supporting multiple customers.

Hexnode eyes broader autonomous IT architecture

Hexnode said it plans to extend the Context Layer architecture beyond UEM over time, including integrations with Hexnode XDR and Hexnode IdP. The longer-term goal is to coordinate workflows across endpoint management, security, and identity while maintaining administrative controls.

The roadmap puts Hexnode among a growing group of endpoint management vendors moving toward agentic and autonomous IT operations, where AI systems do more than surface information and increasingly coordinate actions across enterprise environments.
