GTT Communications is expanding its security portfolio with Defense Halo, a new network defense platform that embeds AI-driven threat detection and remediation capabilities into the company’s global network infrastructure.
Converging network, cloud, and security operations
GTT Defense Halo is an AI-native network defense platform, built on GTT’s AI factory and deployed as a dedicated instance for each customer.
The platform alters network defense by:
- Proactively identifying vulnerabilities and policy gaps across the customer’s estate and providing AI-generated remediation plans in real time before attackers can discover them.
- Identifying behavioral anomalies specific to a customer’s network and determining in real time whether they are genuine security threats. Genuine security threats are then remediated at network speed.
- Generating a stateful, real-time model of a customer’s network, visualizing every host-to-host connection and communication, enabling real-time threat hunting and vulnerability exposure assessment.
“Every security leader I speak with is fighting the same battle against the clock. AI-powered cyber threats complicate and intensify that battle,” said Fletcher Keister, Chief Product and Technology Officer, GTT. “Time is the enemy because time equals risk. The longer a vulnerability remains undetected in an enterprise network, the greater the risk of breach and exploitation.”
“We built GTT Defense Halo to combat this risk and help our customers understand and act quickly on previously undetected vulnerabilities in their network,” Keister continued.
GTT positions AI Factory for security workloads
GTT’s AI factory is embedded in its global Tier 1 backbone and hosted in the U.S., U.K., and European Union, supporting enterprise-scale and sovereignty requirements.
“Most existing security products analyze traffic after it has been collected and normalized, which builds latency, cost, and blind spots into the architecture,” said Amy DeCarlo, Principal Analyst, Security and Data Center Services, GlobalData. “Integrating GTT Defense Halo into your security architecture eliminates these blind spots.”
“GTT is doing something architecturally different by placing AI inference inside the network and AI factories it owns, which marks a significant step in GTT’s evolution as a security provider.
Combined with customer-isolated models and in-region data residency, GTT Defense Halo gives enterprises a defense platform that endpoint-centric and log-centric platforms are not positioned to match,” DeCarlo added.
Defense Halo expands GTT’s security opportunity for partners
For GTT’s channel ecosystem, Defense Halo adds another security capability to a portfolio the company has increasingly positioned around helping partners consolidate networking, security, and managed services conversations with enterprise customers.
That strategy has been a recurring theme in GTT’s 2026 channel investments. In May, GTT channel chief Sara Seegers told Channel Insider that the growth of AI and security complexity was creating opportunities for partners to expand beyond traditional networking engagements.
GTT has positioned its broader Envision platform—which spans networking, SASE, managed SD-WAN, security and connectivity—as a way for partners to reduce vendor sprawl and pursue adjacent customer opportunities.
GTT has also been investing in the digital infrastructure supporting those partner relationships. Earlier this year, the company expanded EnvisionDX with AI-assisted address validation, automated quoting and greater quote visibility for channel partners.
GTT said at the time that its channel program had produced nearly 20% funnel expansion and 15% year-over-year net sales growth, with the company continuing to invest in AI capabilities across the platform.
