Tech Data Unveils Mobile Solutions Portal

Tech Data launched an online mobile solutions portal that helps solution providers access new mobile services available through the company’s Mobile Solutions & Retail division. Solution providers can access device configuration, application support, deployment services, product care, renewals and carrier activations through the portal.

The portal also is designed to simplify the sales cycle by providing full service to Tech Data’s solution provider partners. Through the portal, they can become authorized through carriers, select rate plans, open and complete deal registrations, submit activations and reporting, and manage mobile device enrollment.

The Mobile Solutions & Retail division focuses on driving partner growth in mobile-device management (MDM), security, cloud-based solutions and the Internet of things.

SolarWinds N-able Adds ITSM Platform for MSPs

SolarWinds N-able, a provider of remote monitoring and management and service automation software, plans to launch a new IT service management (ITSM) platform, SolarWinds N-able MSP Manager.

The company acquired the MSP Manager cloud-based service management technology as part of its recent acquisition of Capzure. The platform is designed to help small and midsize managed service providers (MSPs) to run a more efficient and profitable IT service organization.

Developed in the cloud, the platform will offer centralized customer knowledge management, ticketing, time-tracking and integrated billing. Other features include mobile applications for use across Android, iOS and Windows devices, as well as a customer portal, scheduling and contract management. The platform will be available in September 2015, and will be sold on a per-month/per-user subscription basis.

CompTIA IT Offers Security Assessment Wizard

CompTIA offers an assessment tool that identifies cyber-security strengths and shortcomings in organization. The tool is available free of charge to technology solution provider companies.

The IT Security Assessment Wizard is a Web-based tool that any IT solution provider can use to build a security profile of their customers. An enhanced version, which allows for report customization, is available to Premier Members.

Ingram Micro Expands Federal Advantage Program

Ingram Micro expanded its Federal Advantage Program to simplify and shorten the sales cycle for channel partners. The program offers resources, solutions and support to channel partners to meet the requirements of the federal market. The distributor also announced it is now a Dell Federal authorized distribution partner, marking the first time that Dell has granted distribution access to its Federal business.

To support Dell, Ingram Micro established a dedicated team of more than 30 Ingram Micro/Dell-focused sales, marketing and engineering specialists. Mutual Dell channel partners also have access to Ingram Micro’s program managers and the Ingram Micro Solution Center, Configuration Center and Professional Services and Training Academy.

Code Dx Signs IT Security

Code Dx has signed IT Security as a new reseller of its Software Vulnerability Management System. IT Security will leverage Code Dx’s application security solutions to help its clients secure the applications they develop and purchase.

The Code Dx software vulnerability management system helps companies find and fix potential security vulnerabilities by running a suite of preconfigured, fully integrated, multi-language, open-source static code analysis tools against a code base.

Intel Security Appoints New Channel Leader

Intel Security appointed Richard Steranka to lead worldwide channels. Steranka will head up the global team responsible for Intel Security’s ecosystem of distributors, VARs, MSPs, alliances and embedded OEMs. Steranka was formerly the vice president of Avaya’s worldwide partner organization.
