Want to get into virtualization, but don’t know where to start? IT distributors Ingram Micro and Tech Data are creating programs to make it easier for resellers, VARs, solution providers and consultants to cash in on the lucrative and growing market of virtualization.
Ingram Micro announced Aug. 27 that it has been named a VMware Authorized Training Center and will increase its VMware-certified technical, sales and marketing support and introducing a partner program called Smart Enablement for VMware Partners. The partner program is designed to help partners offset the costs of training and education, Ingram Micro said in a prepared statement.
Ingram Micro’s VMware training will be offered through Ingram Micro’s subsidiary, VPN Dynamics, at its Santa Clara, Calif., offices or online. Courses may also be conducted at solution provider or user locations. Ingram Micro is authorized to use VMware-certified instructors and courseware, the company said in its statement. More information is available at VPN Dynamics.
Tech Data has also been active in offering VMware training to its channel partners, resellers, VARs, consultants and solution providers, a spokesperson said. Tech Data offers VMware training through its TDEducation arm, with training held at locations across the country in dozens of cities.
Most recently the company provided VMware VSP and VCP training at TechSelect University earlier this month. In addition, the spokesperson said, Tech Data’s virtualization demo labs feature VMware solutions.
